Not too long from now, the New England Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota for Super Bowl 52. In order to mark the occasion, EA Sports has yet again decided to attempt to determine the outcome of the big game with the use of its most recent professional football franchise release, Madden NFL 18, revealing its latest simulation using the title resulted in a 24 to 20 Patriots victory over the Eagles.

As seen below in the video from EA Sports, Madden NFL 18 fans can get a look at some highlights from the simulation, with the footage depicting the Patriots overcoming an early Eagles lead in the first half, as New England comes out on top at halftime with 17 points to Philadelphia's score of 13. Eventually, the Super Bowl 52 simulation boils down to one final play, with the Eagles' quarterback Nick Foles' one last attempt at a touchdown pass for the victory being swatted away by Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, solidifying New England as this year's virtual Super Bowl champions.

EA Sports' simulation of the NFL's biggest game of the year, which began with Super Bowl 38 in 2004, has served as a successful marketing tool for the company's Madden series over the years, with last year's prediction of a Patriots win causing quite the stir. As a matter of fact, the annual simulation has wound up correctly predicting the winner for 10 out of the 14 Super Bowl games, giving it quite an impressive track record thus far. Should it be right this time around, then this would be the sixth Super Bowl championship for the Bill Belichick and Madden NFL 18 cover star, Tom Brady.

Bearing all of this in mind, it's worth noting that EA Sports' simulations for the Super Bowl using Madden NFL is anything but scientific, with the company only using a single CPU vs. CPU game to get its prediction. Nevertheless, should the Madden NFL 18 game's outcome be yet another correct prediction, then it stands to reason that EA Sports' Super Bowl simulations will remain an annual tradition for the foreseeable future.

Madden NFL 18 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
