Several months ago, the video game peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy, which led many to believe that the company had ceased operations altogether after years of financial troubles. Interestingly enough, that doesn't seem to be the case, for the accessory maker has now revealed that it's making a return to the business, and has even gone so far as to provide a loose outline for some of its upcoming hardware.

Mad Catz announced its resurrection with a new video confirming that it's "back in the game" under new ownership, and it has promised to show off several fresh products this weekend at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show. For those interested in getting a sneak peek at what kind of wares Mad Catz has on deck, the company has included a look at the new RAT Air wireless mouse, Strike 4 mechanical keyboard, and Freq 4 headset in the clip below.

Now known as Mad Catz Global Limited, the company's headquarters have been relocated to Kowloon, Hong Kong, with a press release asserting that its new management has reinvigorated the peripheral manufacturer with "new ideas" and a "new attitude." Plus, it promises to "focus first on quality," and went on to declare that it's "committed to producing innovative gaming products." For the sake of the accessory maker's future, this hopefully means it has learned from the fiasco stemming from Rock Band 4's sales failures, which nearly bled the company dry.

Although many counted Mad Catz out, it's definitely great to see the company's resiliency and determination to keep making gaming gear even after suffering from such major financial losses in the past. And with any luck, we will see some truly useful, unique, and affordable pieces of hardware get released from the manufacturer in 2018, especially since a lot is surely riding on its success this time around.
