While Nintendo may be most closely associated with family-friendly franchises like Super MarioThe Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing, the company's Switch console is a platform for a wide variety of games from many different developers. Indeed, fans can find titles featuring all different sorts of content on the Nintendo eShop, and some of these games can get quite adult in their nature. Case in point: Lust for Darkness.

Lust for Darkness is a Kickstarted game, from developer Movie Games Lunarium, that released in June 2018. While the title has only been available to PC players up to this point, that has now changed, as Lust for Darkness released through the Nintendo eShop just last Friday. For those that have been wanting to experience Lust for Darkness firsthand, but do not have access to a PC, this is certain to be exciting news.

With respect to the content of Lust for Darkness, the game follows protagonist Jonathan Moon, who has received a letter from his wife – a wife that has been missing since the preceding year. This letter leads Moon to a "secluded mansion where an eldritch, occult ceremony takes place," and it seems that this ceremony may have just opened a portal to another realm known as Lusst’ghaa.

The following trailer contains adult content and nudity.

In Lust for Darkness, players navigate between the mansion and Lusst'ghaa, learning about the alien dimension in the process. What is discovered is that the beings of Lusst'ghaa have "transformed their bodies," through experimentation, "so that they could never cease to experience carnal delights." Apparently, this transformation occurred hundreds of years prior to the events of Lust for Darkness, and Lusst'gha is now "full of monstrosities squirming in a never ending ecstasy."

Lust for Darkness plays out like a first-person psychological horror game with heavy erotic themes. Certainly, the content and imagery featured in the game are intended for adults, and Nintendo's recent statements about not censoring games released through the eShop makes Switch a sensible choice for a port. Additionally, those that fall in love with Lust for Darkness may not have long to wait for a sequel, as a followup was successfully Kickstarted earlier this year.

Lust for Darkness is out now for PC and Switch.
