One of Nintendo's highly-anticipated releases this year is Luigi's Mansion 3, which was initially announced for the Switch last year. Now, the game just got a new gameplay footage that was revealed at Gamescom 2019, showcasing a 30-minute in-depth look of Luigi's Mansion 3.

The gameplay preview at Gamescom 2019 showed titular character, Luigi, traversing a new locale filled with spooky ghosts, ghoulies, and other monsters. Bringing along his ever-trusty Poltergiest, Nintendo showcased Luigi's several moves and abilities that cleverly adapt in the environment he's in. While the game's E3 2019 trailer showed off the Castle Floor, players were given a sneak-peak at a new floor, located in the hotel's garden.

The extended gameplay preview showed off both the game's single-player and co-op modes. The co-op mode was previously revealed a couple of months ago, where a second player can take control of Luigi's jelly-like doppelganger, Googi. When co-op mode is enabled, Googi will take the form of Luigi, and has the ability to squeeze through tight spaces, metal gates, and walk through spike traps.

Several new ghosts are also confirmed for Luigi's Mansion 3. The E3 preview a couple of months ago showed a ghost equipped with a shield that the player can yank off using the Suction Shot. The latest Gamescom preview, on the other hand, revealed green-fingered ghouls in the gardens and an encounter with Dr. Potter, who is the resident ghost players have to defeat in the garden area.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is set to release during the spookiest time of the year and will be available exclusively to the Nintendo Switch. The game is set after the events of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, where Luigi, Mario, and the rest of the gang embark on a dream vacation after receiving an invitation to stay at a luxurious hotel. Unbeknownst to Luigi and his crew, the dream vacation is all but a trap set by none other than King Boo himself.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is releasing on October 31, 2019, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
