Earlier this week LucasArts, the company responsible for delivering a vast majority of our Star Wars games, registered a domain for something called Star Wars: Identities. Though many instantly pegged this as being video game related, considering LucasArts is largely considered to be a video game publisher and developer, LucasArts has come out to reveal it is not.

What Star Wars: Identities is, however, LucasArts wouldn’t say -- they simply released a statement that said it does not involve a video game. That isn’t to say LucasArts doesn’t have some video game projects in the pipeline, like the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic, there just won’t be a game called Identities.

Here’s what a spokesperson for LucasArts had to say:

"I can't comment on rumors or speculation. However, I can confirm that this is not a video game."

But that doesn't mean the company isn't active in video games, LucasArts recently put up a job posting that suggests they have an action adventure project in the works, one that might incorporate aerial combat and first person shooter elements as well. Our best guess is that the project is a revitalization of the Battlefront property — a series that was about pitting the player in the midst of an all-out Republic-on-Empire battle.

And then there is the aforementioned Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO, which is sure to suck up tons of gamers' holiday hours as they experience Knights of the Old Republic 3-9.  All of LucasArts future projects, like The Old Republic and Star Wars Kinect, are not being developed by LucasArts, but are instead being co-published by them, but that shouldn’t undermine their appeal. Regardless it’s going to be a good holiday season for BioWare and LucasArts, and we hope that the revenue generated from TOR can help fund more exciting Star Wars and LucasArts related projects.

As for Identities, well since its definitely not video game related we’ll leave it to the good folks over at Screen Rant to figure out just what that is.

What do you think Star Wars: Identities might relate to? Aside from The Old Republic, what future projects do you hope to see from LucasArts?
