After a disastrous year for Google Stadia which ended with the venture shuttering its first-party development efforts, many gamers are curious as to the fate of the few exclusive games planned for the streaming service. While it was a former exclusive to Google Stadia as a "First on Stadia" titleLost Words: Beyond the Page will now be getting a release on other platforms.

Developed by Sketchbook Games and published by Modus Games, Lost Words is an atmospheric narrative adventure that takes place within the main character's diary entries, literally and metaphorically. Players follow a young girl named Izzy as she explores her psyche and the fantasy world of Estoria. The game features 2D platforming, a visually stunning watercolor style, and an immersive story written by the renowned Rhianna Pratchett.

Modus Games released a new trailer for the game, announcing it would be coming to PC via Steam, the PS4, the Nintendo Switch, and the Xbox One. This announcement comes less than a month after Google failed to make Stadia a success, but about a year after the game was originally released on the game streaming service.

Hopefully, Lost Words will be one of many Stadia-exclusive games that get a chance on other platforms. While there are other "First on Stadia" titles that can eventually make their way to other platforms, games that were in the midst of development when Google called it quits will hopefully see the light of day, too.

The unique gameplay in Lost Words will definitely draw in some new players, and releasing on multiple platforms greatly expands the game's possible audience. There are plenty of indie games that are releasing in 2021, and this visually appealing platformer will no doubt entertain a lot of indie fans.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page will release on PC via Steam, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One on April 6, 2021.
