Late last week, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA announced a sequel to Judgment titled Lost Judgment, revealing the next entry in the sleuth-focused Yakuza spin-off series would be coming later this year. The game already looks to be an ambitious new project for the studio, marking its first-ever simultaneous global release.

However, it seems won't be the only studio-first achieved by Lost Judgmentwith the sequel's listing on Japan's PlayStation Store claiming it'll be getting story-focused post-launch DLC – something that Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has never done with the Yakuza franchise before. The listing was spotted and translated by Tojo Dojo, with the publication noticing that the follow-up's Digital Deluxe Edition boasts a season pass.

The PlayStation Store's description for this slate of post-launch content reveals that it isn't just the standard array of additional costumes or items that popped up in prior Yakuza games. According to the listing, there will be three pieces of content in the season pass. The most interesting inclusion references a"fully packed additional story," with the storefront requesting players "stay tuned" for more information in the future. Although there's very little regarding what to expect from the content, it definitely seems as though Ryu ga Gotoku Studio is ready to develop the Yakuza series' first significant slice of story DLC.

The other two additions are relatively standard for the franchise. The first is the "Detective Life Fun Pack," which will launch alongside the release of the main game. According to the PlayStation Store, it will help players "enjoy the main story and side content to the fullest." The second is the "School Stories Fun Pack," which similarly claims to help players "indulge in all that 'School Stories' has to offer." They're sure to bring some fun new additions to the game when they launch during and after the game's official release on September 24.

For those who missed Lost Judgment's reveal last week, the game will pick up the story of detective Takayuki Yagami, who returns following his action-packed first adventure back in 2018. This time around, Yagami is set to go head to head with a new deranged psychopath, as a shocking court case puts him on the trail of a masked killer seeking twisted vengeance. The trailer teased the tale will have plenty of twisted turns, including a personal tragedy for Yagami. With the game debuting on the PlayStation 5, the follow-up looks to have striking visuals and detailed environments, including a fully-modeled school that will play a major part in Yagami's new case.

Lost Judgment is set to release on September 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
