Once players reach the third chapter of Lost Judgment, they'll start to gain access to some of the game's many side cases. There are 42 of them in total, one of which requires players to help a trio of Seiryo High School graduates track down a time capsule that they buried somewhere on the school's campus many years ago.
Unfortunately, the three friends don't quite remember where they hid their capsule, meaning that Lost Judgment players will need to follow some cryptic clues in order to find it. Even when they do get their hands on it, there's an additional mystery to be unravelled, with players also needing to track down one of the trio's former classmates.
How to Start the 'Where is the Time Capsule?' Side Case
The "Where is the Time Capsule" Side Case becomes available during Chapter 3 (Two Sides of the Same Coin) and can be initiated before meeting with Sawa at Plage. To do so, players will need to make their way to Seiryo High School and look for a group of three men in the courtyard area. They'll then need to speak with the trio and select the "Help them out" option when prompted.
Where to Find the Time Capsule
After telling Tak all about their lost time capsule, one of the men will hand over a riddle detailing its supposed location. Players should now make their way over towards the quest marker near the gymnasium and look for a spot where they can see Yokohama's iconic Ferris wheel off in the distance.
At this point, players will need to enter Observation Mode (L3) and examine the wheel. Tak will deduce that this must be the "giant's wheel" mentioned in the friends' riddle, which will then allow players to examine the nearby tree. After a cutscene or two, Tak will eventually dig up the time capsule by himself.
How to Find Goto
Upon returning to the three friends, players will learn that they have the wrong time capsule. Given the shovel that Tak found at the scene and the fact that the school is a restricted area, it stands to reason that someone else may have taken the friend's capsule by mistake, which of course turns out to be the case.
After looking inside the capsule that Tak dug up, the men will realize that it belongs to their former classmate Goto and that she's probably the one who took their capsule. Sadly, none of them kept in touch with her, though they do remember that her father owns a restaurant somewhere in Chinatown. One of the men will also draw a picture of her, at which point players should head to Chinatown in the northeast section of the map.
Once they've arrived at the quest marker, players will be able to enter Target Search mode. There are a few women around who look a little like Ogikubo's drawing, but only one who is around the right age. After examining her, players will simply need to start up a conversation and then watch a few cutscenes to finally close the case.
