Lost Judgment is out in some regions, but it seems like anyone who had pre-ordered the game is currently unable to play it. Lost Judgment was met with a positive critical reception, but this strange occurrence has resulted in a lot of confused and frustrated fans.

While the standard edition of the game does not come out until September 24, the deluxe and ultimate editions are scheduled to release on September 21. The ultimate edition of Lost Judgment also includes The Kaito Files, an expansion featuring Yagami’s partner Masaharu Kaito as a playable character. Despite it being September 21 in some regions, users have been complaining about not being able to even download the game.

Many players had made comments on social media, sharing their frustration at not being to pre-load Lost Judgment on their PS4 or PS5. Some assumed that they will be able to just download and play the game when it officially launches, but it seems like that is not the case. Users from Australia and New Zeland are unable to download the game at all, despite the countdown on their console showing that 0 seconds are left. Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has just tweeted that they are aware of this issue.

There are no reports of any problems with the release of Lost Judgment on Xbox consoles. The fact that users were not able to pre-load the game on PS4 or PS5 was a sign of concern, but they were shocked to learn that the download is not available after the game’s release. In addition, not everyone has access to fast internet so it is extremely unfortunate that even the option to pre-load is not working.

Some fans of Nihon Falcom may remember a similar incident that took place when The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 was released last year. There was no pre-load, and anyone who had pre-ordered the game could not play it. Strangely, users who purchased the game after its midnight release were able to play the game. This resulted in some fans successfully cancelling their pre-orders and then purchasing the game again. The audience had to wait for almost 2 days in order to finally download and play Cold Steel 4.

It does seem like the same issues have surfaced for the release of Lost Judgment. One can hope that it does not take a long time to be solved, and anyone who had purchased the game can play as soon possible.

Lost Judgment releases for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 24, 2021.
