Loop Hero seems like a simple game when players first jump in, but after a few hours, it slowly begins to unfold into a complicated web of decisions and choices. From the different types of resources players will need to gather to the various builds they can experiment, each run on the loop will challenge players in new ways.

Loop Hero is also filled with different types of enemies that will pose unique challenges for players and potentially drop different rewards. Experimentation is extremely important, as there are some enemies that players are unlikely to find through the natural course of play. The Dark Slime is one such enemy.

Dark Slimes will only be created by using a particular tile combination at a very specific time. The first step players will need to take is to get a Goblin Camp to spawn on the loop. This will happen automatically after players put down 10 Rock or Mountain tiles anywhere on the loop. After the 10th tile has been placed, the Goblin Camp will randomly appear.

After that, players will need to wait for an Oblivion card to appear in their hand, so it can be a good tactic to get as many low-level enemies onto the loop as possible by placing Spider tiles, Groves, and multiple Battlefields. Players will also need to ensure the Oblivion card is in their deck before they start the run.

After they have the Oblivion card, players will need to wait until just before dawn and then pay close attention to the Goblin Camp. A new Goblin will spawn each day, and when the Goblin is still on the Goblin Camp tile, players should use the Oblivion card to destroy the camp. This will also destroy the Goblin, changing it into a Dark Slime. Players will then get to fight the Dark Slime the next time they pass that tile, giving them a chance to earn an Astral Orb.

By the very nature of their summoning method, Dark Slimes are a rare creature, but they can be created in Chapter 1, allowing players to load their decks with suitable cards, then go on long runs to try and farm the creatures. When placing the initial Rock and Mountain tiles, it is recommended to build a 3x3 grid first to create a Mountain Peak, giving players additional health to help them on those long grinds of the loop.

Dark Slimes are not particularly tough enemies, but will often spawn onto tiles that have a lot of other monsters of them, so players should be careful about they place tiles around the Goblin Camp to ensure a quick and easy fight against the creatures.
