Mashup cosplays have been a particularly enjoyable twist on the art form presumably since the first visionary nerd grabbed a sheet and a Santa hat and called herself "the Ghost of Christmas Past." The thing is, though, normally any given clever mashup cosplay will tend to combine characters from different franchises or even different forms of media entirely. This time, however, someone managed to combine 2 characters from Loki (heck, the same episode even) into a single cosplay, and the results are adorably wonderful.

Reddit user CaptCash made a little bit go a long way with his take on 2 fan-favorite variants from episode 5 of Loki. With simply a dapper green suit, a custom pin, a couple pairs of horns, and a stuffed alligator, this creative cosplayer managed to hilariously recreate a memorable moment from the now famous episode. Fittingly titled “And what the hell is an alligator doing herREeEYAAAAAH” and sporting a chuckle-worthy facial expression, the cosplay captures that painful moment where Alligator Loki bites the hand off the "President" Loki variant. The huggable stuffed gator even looks almost as cute as the real thing, too.

Naturally, this being Reddit, the comments were filled with everybody's new standup material. The first reply cheekily added "I'm sorry sir, but in puppetry, the hand goes on the other end," while CaptCash quickly shot back "That depends on which end I'm trying to talk with." Aside from a number of other one-liners, the rest of the comments contained plenty of praise for the low-budget but high-concept cosplay. Looks like a lot of Redditors have found their new Halloween costumes this day. It's not quite on the technical level of Wonder Woman meeting Sailor Moon, but it's certainly managed to inspire a great many people just the same.

The moment from the Loki episode in question involved President Loki and his minions invading the safe haven of the God of Mischief's variants who saved the main character Loki when he was pruned by Ravonna Renslayer (and now the word "Loki" has lost all meaning and turned into a sound.) Among the variants who inhabited the bowling-alley-turned-throne-room were Kid Loki, Classic Loki (played to perfection by a wonderfully hammy Richard E. Grant), Boastful Loki (who betrayed the rest and led President Loki there), and of course, Alligator Loki. In the confusion, good old A.L. managed to snap onto the invader's hand and rip it off, in a moment now perfectly recreated by CaptCash.

Comedy-focused cosplays like this are always welcome, whether they're recreating a shot from the original or adding some humor of their own. Or, in a clever subversion, maybe they'll do both by recreating the original shot but plugging in their own funny twist, like this cosplayer giving her take on the "stupid sexy Flanders" bit from The Simpsons. The point is, comedy is always worth the effort.

CaptCash is already an accomplished cosplayer, even aside from this post, and has an extensive library of Instagram posts chronicling his efforts. He's even got a few heartwarming takes on Owen Wilson's Mobius finally getting that jet ski he always wanted. Loki is now available on Disney Plus.
