Fans of Tom Hiddleston's Loki looked forward to Loki's solo TV show. After his death at the hands of Thanos and disappearance with the Tesseract, the audience was eager to see Loki again. The show not only brought Loki back, but also introduced intriguing new faces. One of the most notable is Ravonna Renslayer, who works for the TVA and judges Loki's actions in the first episode.

Ravonna only played a small part in the first episode, but she has the potential to achieve great things. As some might not realize, Ravonna isn't a brand new character. She has a rich history in the comics and has influenced the lives of many heroes. As such, there are plenty of things Loki's audience should know about the mysterious judge.

10 She Was Created By The Time Keepers

Just like Mobius M. Mobius or other agents working for the TVA, Ravonna Renslayer was created by the timekeepers and not born in the traditional way.

It's likely it's always been her purpose to become a judge, and never knew any other way of life. Even though she's human, Ravonna Lexus Renslayer is very different from a majority of the human characters who appear in the MCU.

9 She Was Aware Of What The Avengers Were Doing

When Avengers came up with their plan to travel back in time, get the Infinity Stones, and reverse the Snap, they kept their plans secret. However, as Loki has now revealed, the Avengers weren't the only ones familiar with their plan. The TVA, Ravonna included, also knew of their actions but didn't interfere. What the Avengers did was always supposed to happen.

That could potentially signify that the MCU characters don't have as much free will as fans had previously thought. Ravonna, who approved of the Avengers' actions, also hinted at this in her conversation with Loki.

8 She's A Comic Book Character

Some characters in superhero shows and movies don't come from the comics, but that's not the case with Ravonna. It remains to be seen how much of her comic book personality will appear on the show, or if her character will be something different.

Ravonna isn't a very well-known character, but she's one of the older ones. Her first appearance in the comics dates back to Avengers, issue 23, which came out in December 1965. Ravonna's creators are none other than Stan Lee and Don Heck.

7 Her Origin Story

It's more than possible that Loki will change Ravonna's origin story to better fit the purpose of the plot. However, her comic book persona remains fascinating. In the comics, Ravonna is the daughter of King Carelius, who ruled the Earth in the 40th century. The kingdom was the last place that the villainous Kang the Conqueror hadn't defeated yet.

The reason for was is simple: he fell in love with Ravonna. She refused him because he wasn't a noble like she was, but Kang was determined to win her affection. In the end, they worked together, and Ravonna even acknowledged she loved him too.

6 She Died In The Comics...& Came Back To Life

Marvel doesn't spare its characters, and Ravonna is no exception. In a tragic twist worthy of Romeo and Juliet, she confessed her love for Kang and then died in his arms during an attack by their mutual enemies.

Kang decided to bring Ravonna back. Similar to the MCU's move with Gamora, he took her out of the timeline before she died and created an alternate reality as a result. In one reality, Ravonna and Kang lived side by side in the Limbo. In another, she was trapped in stasis, barely alive, waiting unknowingly for someone who would revive her.

5 She Met Other Superheroes

In the MCU, Ravonna has only met Loki so far, and it's unclear whether she personally interacted with any iconic MCU superheroes. The situation is different in the comics, though, as Ravonna had met multiple heroes.

She formed an alliance with the Avengers when Kang lost his patience and decided to invade Ravonna's kingdom after all. In one reality, Thor helped save Ravonna's life since he was the one who put her in stasis. And Ravonna's future plans resulted in her meeting and fighting Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk.

4 She Could Bring New Characters Into The MCU

Ravonna so far has played a smaller part on Loki, but she could be instrumental in bringing new characters into the MCU. Just like her colleague, Mobius M. Mobius, Ravonna has a connection to She-Hulk in the comics, having fought her when she tried to get a powerful weapon called the Ultimate Nullifier. As for Mobius, he served as one of the judges at She-Hulk's trial.

Ravonna and Mobius could also bring Kang into the MCU, since they both interacted with him in the comics. It's unlikely to be a coincidence that the show's creators would decide to introduce both Ravonna and Mobius relatively shortly before She-Hulk will appear in the MCU in her solo show.

3 Her Powers And Abilities

Ravonna hasn't had the chance to demonstrate her powers in the MCU just yet. In the comics, though, she's a force to be reckoned with.

Ravonna has considerable fighting skills in the comics and is well-versed in using various weapons, such as concussion blasters and vibro-knives. She's also more durable than humans usually are, and possesses the power of energy projection.

2 She's A Shapeshifter

One of Ravonna's most interesting powers in the comics is her ability to shapeshift. She wears special body armor and has futuristic technology that allows her to take on the form of others. She used this power to impersonate Nebula, for example, when she tried to get the Ultimate Nullifier.

Ravonna can also her technology to project an image of herself into the dreams of others. Considering Loki has similar powers, it could be interesting to see them use their shapeshifting powers against each other.

1 She Has Multiple Versions In The Comics

Valeria Richards is one version of Ravonna

Marvel Comics have a long history, and as such, many heroes have multiple versions of themselves. Ravonna is one of them. One of her most interesting alternate versions is Valeria Richards, the daughter of Susan Storm and Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four.

Valeria became Ravonna after Doctor Doom used bio-engineering to change the daughter of his long-time enemies into Kang's girlfriend. The Fantastic Four should also eventually appear in the MCU, but it's impossible to tell whether the creators decide to utilize this storyline or not.
