Marvel fans, especially those who love Loki, eagerly anticipated the arrival of Loki's solo show. Now that Loki has finally returned, it came as a surprise to many viewers that he's not the only prominent character on the show. Owen Wilson's character of Mobius M. Mobius became a fan-favorite after just one season. Even though Mobius could easily be Loki's enemy, it seems like the two unlikely allies will end up working together.

Though many viewers won't be familiar with Mobius, he isn't a new character in the Marvel universe. He has appeared in the comics before, and had an impact on the lives of multiple superheroes. It will hardly come as a surprise there's more to Mobius than meets the eye.

9 He Wasn't Born The Normal Way

Mobius is at the TVA

Unlike Loki or most characters who appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mobius wasn't born the usual way. Instead, the Time Keepers created him to work for them and help them protect the Sacred Timeline.

As a result, Mobius has never known a typical human life. Just like the clerk who doesn't know what fish is, Mobius also leads a life isolated from the rest of humanity.

8 He Can Speak Every Language Fluently

As his job entails traveling through time and to different places, Mobius is capable of speaking every language existing, and does so fluently.

In the first episode of the show, he demonstrated his knowledge of English when he talked to Loki. Naturally, when he traveled to France in the 16th century to investigate the murders, he spoke French. It's quite possible he might utilize his knowledge to a further degree in future episodes.

7 How Owen Wilson Prepared For The Role

Some actors in the MCU spend time reading comics to learn more about their characters and the Marvel universe in general. Owen Wilson, who portrays Mobius on Loki, chose a different approach. Instead of reading the comics, he worked with Tom Hiddleston to learn more about the MCU, the story, and how it's all connected.

Owen Wilson said in an interview that "Tom was telling me about it, telling me about his character. And even in the way sometimes that he would describe his character, it was useful for me because my character Mobius in Loki is kind of interviewing him at some point. So it kind of worked doing it that way."

6 He Has A Stunt Double

Chris Brewster is a stunt double for Owen Wilson's Mobius on Loki

Even though Mobius didn't have that many action scenes in the show's pilot, this might change in the future. The fact that Owen Wilson has a stunt double, Chris Brewster, suggests that fight scenes or other action sequences might await the character of Mobius in upcoming episodes.

Chris Brewster is an experienced stunt double who worked on a large number of MCU films and shows such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, or Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).

5 His First Appearance In The Comics

Unlike some other superhero characters, Mobius did appear in the comics before. His first appearance happened in the Fantastic Four issue number 353 all the way back in June 1991. Age-wise, Mobius is one of the younger Marvel comic book characters.

In his first appearence, Fantastic Four unsurprisingly breaks the rules of time and ends up at TVA. And just like he did with Loki, Mobius M. Mobius is the one who takes the team and gives them a tour around the complex.

4 He Met Other Superheroes

Mobius seems inclined to work with Loki in the MCU show. However, he also hints at the fact he's well familiar with other superheroes, or at least their line of work. Mobius immediately recognizes Loki when he shows up at the TVA. It's unlikely it will happen in the show, but in the comics, Mobius met multiple other superheroes.

For example, he went against the above-mentioned Fantastic Four when they violated the TVA's rules. He also has a connection to Bruce Banner's cousin Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk, since he was one of the judges at her trial.

3 He's Based On A Real Person

Mark Gruenwald was an inspiration for Mobius

In the comics, Mobius has a slightly different appearance than he does on the show. He has receding dark hair, but a similar mustache to Owen Wilson's version of the character. What makes his appearance intriguing is its basis on that of a real person.

Marvel editor and writer Mark Gruenwald worked for Marvel for many years, and was the inspiration for Mobius' look. His work for Marvel greatly influenced the storyline of WandaVision, as well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

2 He Could Appear In Multiple Roles

Since the TVA creates its agents by cloning, and the comic books have multiple people who look just like Mobius, it's possible something similar could happen on Loki as well. The series has already introduced the thought that Loki has multiple variants existing and running free.

The series could therefore do something similar with Mobius, which would mean that more people with Owen Wilson's face could appear on the show.

1 He Might Introduce Other Superheroes

One of the more exciting fan theories suggests that Mobius could ultimately be responsible for bringing more superheroes into the MCU. Considering his close ties to She-Hulk and especially the Fantastic Four, with whom he clashed multiple times, this theory isn't so far-fetched.

Both She-Hulk and the Fantastic Four are due to appear in the MCU. It wouldn't be so strange if Mobius had something to do with their introduction in the universe – or at least met them at one point or another.
