The incredible new Loki show released by Disney Plus and Marvel Studios has unleashed a powerful impact on fans, viewers, and streaming services alike, giving a new definition to the "God of Mischief." Now, Disney Plus has changed release plans for its original series in the wake of the latest MCU show's success.

Disney's Plus decision to release Loki on Wednesdays made all the difference and the show quickly earned the title of the most-watched series premiere on a streaming platform. With only two episodes released of Loki to date, the show created a huge tremor that caused Disney Plus to switch the premiere dates of its original series to Wednesdays instead of Fridays.

Friday premieres have long been a source of trouble for all streaming services since Netflix claimed the day before all other platforms. Having to constantly split viewership with Netflix, other streaming platforms have tried to find ways to better promote their own original series and movies. Other growing platforms like HBO Max and Peacock quickly changed their premiere dates to Thursdays early on, to avoid competition.

A switch to Wednesday premieres will allow Disney Plus to earn the full attention of viewers with no other current platform premiering shows on this day. Weekends have always been competitive time slots for streaming services and cable alike since it is when most viewers decide to watch TV. Undoubtedly, this switch from Disney Plus is slightly controversial in the streaming world. With Disney catering to a household and family mindset, this new change will likely make the platform more popular in households as adults relax after work and children after school.

With an enormous increase in the amount of Disney Plus originals currently set to release, and always being announced, the premiere date change will likely give the streamer the most viewership they have ever had. The changes will not be immediate, however. Disney Plus plans to begin this change with all upcoming shows premiering in July, including Monsters at Work, Turner & Hooch, and Chip 'N' Dale: Park Life. Although this change is impacting all original TV Shows, Disney Plus original movies will not be affected and remain with Friday premieres.

Loki has quickly become iconic in more ways than one and proves to be one of the most promising series to come from Disney Plus. Other series to look forward to from the ever-growing streaming platform include the reboot series of The Sandlot and The Beauty and the Beast prequel.

Loki is now available on Disney Plus.
