From 1933 to 1951, Loki was a true menace to Midgard and all of humanity in general. From spending time at the Ravencroft Institute to casting a spell over the entire nation of Cassarobia, Loki caused nothing but trouble. Time after time Thor was sent to handle Loki and drag him back to Asgard.

This did nothing to sway the Trickster God as he would continually cause chaos and mischief throughout the Nine Realms. At one point he made several trespasses against the Greek Gods and Olympus itself. Odin finally got tired of these antics and trapped Loki in a tree using his powerful magical abilities. The only way he could escape was if someone shed a tear for him.

What would happen if all the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe banded together and switched adversaries? In 1989, this question was answered in the "Acts Of Vengeance" storyline that ran across multiple Marvel titles. However, Loki finally realized that he was just a pawn in a much larger game. Ragnarok is destined to happen over and over again, with Loki being a mere tool for Those Who Sit Above In Shadow. These beings played him like a fiddle and were the reason that Ragnarok happened over and over again. Eventually, Thor with a little help from Loki, ended the cycle and ensured that the Asgardians could control their own fate.
