Grogu, or "Baby Yoda" as many justifiably stubborn fans continue to call him, is quite easily the most impactful element to come out of the Star Wars Disney Plus series The Mandalorian, and easily ranks up there among the entire franchise's most popular offerings. So it should come as no surprise that Halloween costumes based on the adorable little green dude have shot up in popularity over the past couple of years. But it's one thing to just buy one at the local Halloween shop that customers could have sworn was a hardware store just a week ago. However, it's another thing entirely to make one from scratch.

That's where rapper and hip-hop icon Lizzo comes in. Not content to simply be one of the most influential musicians in the business today, she put together her own take on the tiny Force user and had one heck of a good time. Ever the performer, she turned the whole thing into an experience, documenting her fun evening out in character as The Mandalorian's Grogu (or at least as a version of Grogu who really, REALLY likes to party). Luckily for her adoring public, she shared those photos.

Posting on her Instagram for all the world to see and enjoy, Lizzo put on an honestly pretty hilarious show of Grogu "accidentally" being caught out partying by the paparazzi. Sporting an admittedly pretty impressive makeup job and a cozy-looking coat that should honestly just be in fashion regardless of one's Force sensitivity, she struck pose after pose with drinks and a snazzy handbag. While definitely not the kind of shots someone would see in a regular Star Wars movie, she wouldn't look out of place in the audience of that rock band episode of Star Wars: Visions.

Lizzo also added a tongue-in-cheek caption to the post, acting as Grogu's publicity team. "Grogu aka Baby Yoda aka The Child has no recollection of these events. In fact, these events never happened *jedi hand wave*" It was a nice touch, particularly in a world where everybody has to be particularly careful about going outside. Hey, Grogu may be a powerful Force user, but he's still a little tiny 50-year-old baby. Anybody can get sick.

Halloween is a great time for fans of geeky things and non-geeky things alike. Even if somebody isn't a fan of candy (the absolute nerve), they get an opportunity to just let loose with their fandom and hang around other people who don't often get the chance to dress up as their favorite heroes like Simu Liu's Shang-Chi. Plus, when celebrities do it, that just helps normalize being into shows and movies that might otherwise be seen as "uncool."

So good on Lizzo for helping popularize something that's already admittedly super popular. Jokes aside, though, it's a great costume she put together. Oh, sorry. It's a great outfit that Grogu decided to wear on his night out. Here's hoping he doesn't spend too long in the drunk tank.

The Mandalorian season 3 is currently in production.
