By | 2 years ago

The Holiday season traditionally brings with it a surreal number of back-to-back blockbuster releases within the gaming industry, and one major PlayStation exclusive hitting within that consumer-friendly window is LittleBigPlanet 3. While October is already jam-packed with new releases, Sony confirmed that Sackboy and his newfound group of plush-tastic friends will be returning to the spotlight later this November.

Taking to PlayStation.Blog, the console manufacturer announced that both PS3 and PS4 owners would be able to pick up LittleBigPlanet 3 on November 18, 2014. Not to be outdone, the company also confirmed a plethora of pre-order bonuses for fans that are willing to lay down some cash in advance of Sackboy’s next platformer.

According to Sony, there will be a blend of both physical and digital bonuses for pre-ordering LittleBigPlanet 3. Collectors looking for something to put on their shelf will be given a plush Sackboy from participating retailers, with a special variant being offered to those that plan on picking up the game from Target. Just what’s so special about this Sackboy plushie? Well, it’s wearing a hat with the Target logo on it.

Furthermore, everyone that pre-orders the PS4 version of LittleBigPlanet 3 will be treated to various costumes within the Day One edition of the title. Working in collaboration with Electronic Arts, gamers will receive a pack loaded with costumes from BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. Not to be outdone by third-party support, fans will also receive costumes based on a handful of popular first-party PlayStation titles.

Retailers will also have exclusive costumes they’ll be awarding consumers that opt to invest in LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4 at one of their many fine establishments. For example, those that plan on picking up the title from GameStop will receive the Mythical Creatures Costume Pack free of charge. Meanwhile, the Hidden Creatures Costume Pack will be available for those that pickup the game from Best Buy, and Amazon will be offering consumers the PlayStation Favorites Costume Pack.

Those hoping to keep their catalogues digital, however, can pre-purchase LittleBigPlanet 3 from the PlayStation Store will receive a special t-shirt pack that allows fans to rep the unreleased Sumo Digital installment within LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting. Of course, these Sackboy shirts will also transfer to LittleBigPlanet 3, so those consumers will be getting limited, cross-generational bonuses just for foregoing a physical copy of the title.

It’ll be a challenge for longtime fans to decide between each of the pre-order bonuses (although PlayStation.Blog made it sounds as if none of these will be available to PS3 owners), but the end result will see digital closets loaded with a bounty of different outfits for Sackboy and his new friends OddSock, Toggle and Swoop.
