While many consoles never really had their day in the sun, there's often a small but dedicated fanbase keeping the spirit of them alive. The NeoGeo Pocket Color is another such console, but now, thanks to Limited Run Games, fans are getting the chance to experience the vintage handheld on the Nintendo Switch with the NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol 1.

Limited Run Games announced via its Twitter account that it is releasing a collection of NeoGeo Pocket Color games for the Switch that will be available starting April 22. The company is known for releasing small physical batches of niche games, such as a recent short run of physical Scott Pilgrim Vs The World editions, but it has now turned its attention to a real retro experience.

The collection bundles ten games from the NeoGeo Pocket Color including the fan-favorite Metal Slug 1st Mission and 2nd Mission, Dark Arms, Big Tournament Golf, and The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny. In addition to these games, the collection will allow players to view high-quality 3D renders of the original NeoGeo Pocket cartridges, read through original instruction manuals, and even play the vintage classics in an optional monochrome mode.

Rounding out the collection are SNK Gals' Fighters, Samurai Shodown! 2, King of Fighters R-2, Fatal Fury First Contact, and SNK vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium. For fans who simply need more NeoGeo in their life, there's the NeoGeo MVSX Arcade Cabinet, but anyone willing to wait should be happy to know that the NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection is just the first volume, so more will likely be coming in the future.

NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 will be available for Nintendo Switch on April 22.
