One of the biggest stories of E3 2018 is that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released on Xbox One, marking the series’ Xbox debut. But despite that announcement getting most of the attention, Sony didn’t come up empty-handed when it came to Kingdom Hearts related announcements as the PlayStation press conference also┬ácame with some reveals.

During its E3 2018 press conference, Sony unveiled a limited edition Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Pro. The console itself is a matte black PS4 Pro that’s decorated with an intricate design with all of the regal and solar-based shapes seen in Kingdom Hearts iconography. There’s also a DualShock 4 controller to match. The controller is just a standard black pad, albeit it has some Kingdom Hearts 3 decorations on the touchpad. No details about pricing or availability were revealed, though more information will likely be available as we near the game’s release date.

Kingdom Hearts collection package PS4 E3 2018

Additionally, a Kingdom Hearts game collection was announced. A PS4 exclusive, the collection will include Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 + 2.5, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3. Again, information about this package is brief and it’s unclear how much the package might cost. It is incredibly convenient for series’ newcomers, though, so this could be a popular purchase even if publisher Square Enix offers just a small discount on buying all of the games individually.

The console and game announcements weren’t the only reveals to come from the PlayStation E3 2018 press conference. The show also featured the first trailer for the game’s Pirates of the Caribbean world. Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow stars in the new gameplay footage, alongside some vibrant footage of racing through rainbow-colored trails in the sky and a massive battle against a monster on the sea.

The aforementioned reveals are themselves just a fraction of the Kingdom Hearts 3 news that has come out over the last few days. There was also the official confirmation of the game’s release date, the trailer for the Frozen game world, the new gameplay footage that was presented at the Square Enix E3 2018 press conference, and the announcement of a Kingdom Hearts 3 collector’s figures bundle on the Square Enix store. While it may be a lot for fans to keep up with, it also speaks to the size and scope of the upcoming game. Despite all this, there may still be things to show off before release, so watch this space.

Kingdom Hearts 3 releases on January 29 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
