Life is Strange: True Colors is finally here, and keeping in tone with the rest of the series it requires the player to make multiple major decisions throughout its five chapters. Like previous entries, these choices have major ramifications for events later in Life is Strange: True Colors, which add up a lot quicker given that this is the first entry to release all five episodes at once. One of the game's major choices early on concerns choosing whether Charlotte should take Typhon's money following Gabe's death to support her son Ethan, or if she should refuse it.

This choice comes after Alex's brother Gabe is killed while attempting to rescue Ethan due to a blast near the Haven Springs mines. Typhon offers Charlotte, Gabe's girlfriend, compensation for his death in exchange for her silence and so she will not press charges against them. This scene can only be witnessed by visiting Charlotte's cannabis dispensory during chapter two, before meeting up with Mac near the flower shop and after leaving the Black Lantern. If this scene is missed, Charlotte will automatically take the money, however if you visit her the choice falls on Alex's shoulders.

This decision mainly hinges on what the player feels is most appropriate for Charlotte and Alex's relationship. While there aren't any major ramifications for the decision, if Charlotte takes the money Alex will comment that the situation feels somewhat scummy, however she feels that she made the right decision as Ethan should come first for Charlotte. If she turns the offer down, Alex will tell Charlotte that she shouldn't allow Typhon to buy her silence and reaffirms that she will find the truth. This choice is only mentioned in small conversations later in the game and does not impact the story in any major capacity.

Alex and Charlotte's relationship is one of the most important in the game however, so player should be aware that while this decision has no major impact on the game's story, there are choices later in the game that can influence the ending which you receive. That said, this choice will not influence any of those sceanrios later on and Charlotte will not react any differently to you later in the game regarding whether you convince her to take or leave the money, nor will Ethan. This is simply up to the player's preference and how you wish build your version of Alex.
