How to Help Steph in Life is Strange: True Colors

Life is Strange True Colors alex using empathic powers on steph chapter 2

Alex must first approach Steph and hold down the interact button to use her powers. This will let her see Gabe's apartment the way Steph sees it, and Alex can identify exactly how to help her new friend. After this, the room will light up some blue areas. As Life is Strange games are story-heavy, searching for items and dialogue choices will be how most scenarios progress throughout the title.

Each blue area contains an item that Alex must interact with. Each unlocks one of Steph's memories of her friendship with Gabe. Find them all to help Steph in Chapter 2 of Life is Strange: True Colors.

There are 5 objects with a memory attached to them:

  • A video game
  • Record Player
  • Foosball table
  • Shot glasses
  • Bottle of alcohol

The video game is found under the TV, and the record player is to the left on its own table. The Foosball table is just ahead, beside the bike and snowboard. After interacting with it, head to the shot glasses on the shelf in the kitchen area. Finally, go back to returning Life Is Strange character Steph and activate the memory attached to the bottle of alcohol with a "Foosball Champion" label on it. Alex will comment that she is ready to help Steph now.

Alex can now talk to Steph, and players will have 4 dialogue options: Video game, Music, Drink, and Foosball. Players can choose other options without locking themselves out of the right one, but the only option that will help Steph continue the story is choosing Foosball.

Players will then take part in a minigame, and it doesn't matter if they win or lose. Any dialogue options can be chosen to cheer Steph up, but if they don't want to lock themselves out of a romance with Steph, they should choose "girls" or "both" when Steph asks Alex who she is attracted to.

After helping Steph, Alex can leave the Black Lantern and do a little exploring around Haven Springs. After helping Eleanor at the flower shop, they will also have to find Riley to talk about Mac's fear. There are also a few missable Trophies/Achievements in the area.

Make sure to explore the roof of Alex's apartment before ending the chapter for a peaceful Zen Moment and to find a collectible memory location in Life is Strange: True Colors.

Life is Strange: True Colors is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and will release later for Switch.
