Shuri will return in Black Panther 3. At least, that's according to Letitia Wright, who let slip that the third installment of the Black Panther franchise is now in active development.Black Panther 3 has plenty of material left to cover. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ended with an exciting post-credit scene. Following Shuri's acceptance of her grief, she is approached by Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), who reveals that she and T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) had conceived a child before his passing. Wanting to keep him away from the pressures of the throne for as long as they could, they agreed that Nakia would raise young Prince T'Challa (Divine Love Konadu-Sun) in Haiti, where she had set up charitable efforts.RELATED: Angela Bassett Wins Golden Globe For Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverIn an interview with Variety on the Golden Globes red carpet, Wright was point-blank asked when Black Panther 3 would be greenlit. She responded, "I think it's already in the works...It's gonna take a while, but really excited for you guys to see that." The reporter asked if that meant the film was a certainty, and Wright gave a diplomatic answer, which ended with a casual, "Why not?" Wright was also careful to say that a third film would take quite some time.

There are many different plotlines that Black Panther 3 could tackle. Barring another time jump in the MCU, it's unlikely that Toussaint/T'Challa will grow into a Black Panther like his father, but he may have a significant role moving forward. The original pitch for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before Boseman's untimely passing was for T'Challa to bond with his son in the wilderness to get to know him after having missed five years of his life thanks to the Blip.

This plot could be reworked into Shuri's arc, one of the best in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. After losing her father, her brother, and her mother, Shuri's only living relative is Toussaint, and she may spend a large portion of Black Panther 3 bonding with him. There's also the issue of Talokan, which came to a ceasefire with Wakanda but did not necessarily become an ally of the nation.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also set up plenty of plot lines for the MCU's future. The rise of a new, powerful, and secret empire in the world's oceans will surely shake things up on a global scale, as will the revelation that there are more Vibranium deposits around the world. Shuri's tenure as Queen is something that needs to be addressed as well. M'Baku (Winston Duke) was last seen wanting to challenge her for the throne, and such a plot will inevitably become something the MCU has to address soon.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be available on Disney Plus starting February 1st, 2023.
