After years of waiting, the launch of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is almost here. The upcoming title, which encompasses the events of all nine main Star Wars films, is boasting a plethora of gameplay improvements from its predecessors of console generations' past. This includes the ability to summon the iconic Death Star, which is then viewable all the way from a planet's surface.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the sixth entry in developer TT Games' LEGO Star Wars series of video games and the successor to 2016's LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The longest gap between entries, the long-awaited game officially releases on April 5, 2022, although some gamers have received LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga early.

One of those early LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga recipients is a pair of content creators who run a channel called Lunar Squadron. Acquiring an advance copy from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the YouTubers have a Let's Play video where they explore the ecumenopolis world of Coruscant. Before touching down on the planet, Lunar Squadron reveals they've already beaten the game, and show that they can instantly summon the Death Star to appear before them. After the iconic space station appears, they head to Coruscant's Uscru District, where a look towards the sky reveals the looming Death Star.

In LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the Death Star is one of five available Capital Ships, which players can utilize in the game's various space battles. In addition to the Death Star, players will also be able to unlock other iconic Star Wars vessels of similar magnitude, such as the Death Star 2, Executor, Steadfast, and Trade Federation Battleship. Between dozens of Starships, Capital Ships, and Micro Ships, and well over 300 playable characters to choose from, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers players plenty of options. However, fans are still disgruntled about the removal of LEGO character customization.

It should be noted that while players can summon the Death Star (or any other Capital Ship) to be viewed from any planet's surface, this is not something that can be done while physically on the planet itself. While there are already a vast array of ships and characters to choose from, there are reportedly many, many more to come. According to a recent report, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will receive a whopping 7 DLC packs. Taking the form of a Season Pass called Character Collection, the DLC packs will reportedly include content from The Mandalorian, Rogue One, and more.

With LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga launching, the fan-favorite video game series is seeing a massive resurgence in popularity. One speedrunner has even played the first 10 LEGO video games in 20 hours in preparation for The Skywalker Saga's release, showing just how badly fans have been wanting this game to release.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga releases April 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
