LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has become the best way to experience the franchise, but it leaves out major parts of the series. Traveller's Tales remade all nine of the main films in LEGO form but chose to leave out the Star Wars Story films and all the shows. Instead, those titles were represented as DLC character packs that players could purchase. Due to the success of the title, Traveller's Tales is offering even more DLC character packs based on more shows, but the game and those titles deserve so much more.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has a plethora of content for players to explore, but the lack of levels based on Star Wars content outside the main series prevents the title from truly being a celebration of the franchise. Players do not just want to control the characters from shows like The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars, they want to play through the events of those series. Traveller's Tales could deliver that if it made story DLC alongside character packs, and the game deserves it.

Rogue One and Solo Levels

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga represents the nine main movies, but that leaves two newer theatrical movies out Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story were both Star Wars anthology films that further expanded the franchise's mythos, and helped add context to events that viewers had already seen. Both movies are present in the game via character packs, but players deserve to experience these stories.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story told the tale of how the Death Star plans were acquired before the events of A New Hope. It introduced brand-new characters like Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso, and it brought viewers to new locales like Scarif. While the characters have gotten LEGO-fied, the story and locales have been left on the cutting room floor. The movie was received very well by the fan base, and its companion show Andor has also been widely well-received. Both deserve to be present in the game, and Traveller's Tales should deliver.

Solo: A Star Wars Story failed to make an impact at the box office, but it still has a lot to offer Star Wars fans. It told the story of a young Han Solo as he traversed the criminal underworld and how he met Chewbacca. It was a fun adventure through the galaxy, and it could be even more fun in LEGO form. Letting players race through the streets of Corellia or participate in a train heist could be a wild ride, and would make great LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC.

Disney Plus Themed Levels

Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story should be a part of the game, and so should the TV shows. All the current Disney Plus shows are present as character packs, but Star Wars fans want to actually experience them in the game. They want to fight Darth Vader during the events of Obi-Wan Kenobi, they want to ride a Rancor through Tatooine during The Book of Boba Fett, fans would love protecting Grogu during The Mandalorian, and many would be thrilled to combat Darth Maul at the end of The Clone Wars. While it is fun to control these characters, it would be even better if Traveller's Tales let players play through the narratives.

Adding a couple of levels themed after these various Disney Plus shows and movies could go a long way to making LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the definitive Star Wars experience. There are no signs that Traveller's Tales has any plans for that, but it should really consider it. It comes so close to being the best Star Wars game around, and all it needs is a bit more content to get there.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
