Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers players the ability to visit a galaxy far, far away in its entirety for the first time. The title, which is much more impressive and complex than its predecessors, gives players more control over the gameplay experience. They can choose to go through the game in Mumble Mode, for example, which replaces dialogue with the original LEGO audio. And, of course, players can choose where they want to start their Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga journey.

The Skywalker Saga takes the player experience seriously, and rewards fans for exploring the world and completing the story. But extra game modes, through in-game Datacards, are only part of the 'customizable' content. There is also the option to pick the Star Wars episode where fans want to start their new story. While the story will be fun no matter what episode players start with, some choices are better than others.

Best Order to Play The Skywalker Saga In

The Skywalker Saga

When players begin The Skywalker Saga, they can choose between three different starts; The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, and The Force Awakens. These three episodes break down the story in the three sub-trilogies in which they were released.

The question, of course, is what episode is best to choose. While there isn't a terrible way to play through the game, some orders are better than others. The best way for most players would be to start with The Phantom Menace and chronologically work through the Star Wars movies. While LEGO Star Wars has excellent character interactions no matter where fans begin, this will offer the most continuity.

For fans of the other LEGO Star Wars titles, though, it might be hard to start with content that already seems familiar. In those cases, players can start with The Force Awakens, then go on to the original trilogy, and end with The Phantom Menace. This order provides a little less continuity, but is still better than putting the original trilogy content at the end. This order also allows players to experience the sequel trilogy and all of its running gags in LEGO Star Wars format from the very start.

In truth, however, there is no bad way to play the new LEGO game. Players of the old Star Wars titles will enjoy returning to the story, while new fans will be able to immerse themselves in the new puzzles, graphics, and mechanics. No matter how long it takes players to beat Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, they are sure to have an entertaining experience.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
