Although LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been relatively quiet since its indefinite delay earlier this year, it's not hard to imagine its content. Most of the movies, after all, have appeared in LEGO games before, with the latest release giving them some changes and tweaks, but two movies have not. The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker have never been adapted into LEGO form, which may be exciting for fans of the franchise.

Playing through The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be a new experience for everyone, but some of its gameplay and content is likely predictable by looking at content already confirmed for the game, as well as content that's in the movie.

Known Last Jedi Content in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Each episode in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is known to have five story missions, thus giving fans potentially some idea on how The Last Jedi will work. Based on the movie structure of The Last Jedi, it stands to reason that players will likely focus on some planets in some chapters, while exploring a couple as different characters in the others. Of course, that's just speculation at this time, but it's likely that players will follow the story in a structure like this.

Notably, however, as players advanced throughout The Last Jedi, they will visit new hubs in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and many of these have already been revealed. Hubs players can explore based on Last Jedi including Ahch-To, where Luke Skywalker hid himself; Cantonica, the planet that Canto Bight appears on; and Crait, the salty mineral planet where Leia's Resistance has its last stand against the First Order. Some of these has been glimpsed in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga trailers, but it'll be interesting to see how it manifests.

It's impossible to predict how the chapters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will break down, but based on the movie's structure, it would make sense if the first chapter concluded with Leia surviving being dragged into space. The second chapter would likely dive into Rey's interactions with Luke on Ahch-To, while the third chapter would focus on on Canto Bight. Chapter four would likely take place on Snoke's flagship, and chapter five would bring all the insanity on Crait with it, with a focus on Luke and Kylo Ren's face-off. Of course, that's a crude if potential chapter breakdown.

Looking at it further though, the overall episode will likely begin with some space combat with players in control of Poe Dameron. All of the space combat would lead to some exploration on the Libertine and reveal the status of Princess Leia via cut scenes. Like its role as a hub, Ahch-To will likely be an explorable area where players can find collectibles, solve puzzles, and complete some training exercises with Luke as more slow-paced mini-games. Having a soft touch here would underscore the emotional scenes well, and it would serve as a good appetizer for LEGO Star Wars: The Sykwalker Saga players ahead of Canto Bight as well.

Another free exploration area makes sense, until players are captured in which they must play through their escape and their big epic Canto Bight chase. Meanwhile, Rey would likely need to play through her confrontation with Luke and connection with Kylo Ren, while players will likely be able to say goodbye to the planet as Luke and finish up a few tasks before a cutscene with Yoda burns down the Jedi Library. At this point, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker's Last Jedi episode is likely to pick up as the intense combat scenes on Snoke's flagship unfold, a fight with Captain Phasma takes place, and the landing on Crait leads to big, vehicle-based combat.

Hopefully and most likely, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga players will take on the role of Luke during his fight with Kylo Ren, which will be implied to continue as players escape Crait through the tunnels and via Rey and the Millennium Falcon. Ultimately, the best way to end The Last Jedi is a strong cutscene with minimal antics that emphasize Luke's death on Ahc-To, beneath two LEGO suns of course.

There's bound to be some added puzzles, silly antics, and the like spread throughout the game, but when trying to picture how to take The Last Jedi and put it in LEGO format, a lot of it translates to theoretical gameplay well. For now, fans will just have to wait and see what's in store for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, for the franchise, and more, as news on everything will likely come sporadically over the next few months.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
