Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been taking the internet by storm and fans of the franchise are loving it. While it manages to traverse the entire length and breadth of the Skywalker Saga, the game also managed to include the classic feel of the Lego games we all know and love.

That means it wasn’t afraid to poke fun, sometimes at the expense of the more serious aspects of the franchise, and this created a lot of moments that left fans struggling to keep their composure while playing.

9 Order 67

Emperor Palpatine In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

One of the more iconic moments in the prequel trilogy in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is Order 66. At that moment, Palpatine brings about the destruction of the Jedi Order and the rise of his Empire in one fell swoop.

However, in the game, Palpatine mixes up his orders and accidentally calls for Order 67, which sets the Stormtroopers off dancing across the galaxy before he manages to fix it and execute 66 instead. As one of the darkest moments in the franchise, this was a great way to alleviate some tension associated with the fall of the Jedi. These iconic moments are just one of the many ways in which the Star Wars films translate to Lego perfectly.

8 Lando’s Capes

Lando Calrissian In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Lando Calrissian is famously a snazzy dresser and is often seen in Star Wars films wearing a cape. However, we never see the behind-the-scenes of just how many capes he actually owns. That is, until The Skywalker Saga, which contains a gag where you can wander into a room and find a portrait of Lando as well as a vast number of capes hanging on the walls.

Additionally, there is a character interaction where Darth Vader tells Lando he is altering their deal because he wants one of his capes, but Lando doesn’t take it too well.

7 I Am Queen Amidala

Padme, Obi-Wan And Qui-Gon In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

In The Phantom Menace portion of the game, there is the moment where Padme reveals herself to be the real Queen Amidala. However, it doesn’t quite go according to plan, as in the game several other characters claim to be the real Amidala.

This includes a Jawa, a Rodian, and many others engaging in the Spartacus style shenanigans. It was a surprising and hilarious riff on another memorable moment from the film franchise. Fans have often expressed confusion about the need for her to hide her identity and the game doesn't mind poking fun at the franchise for a laugh. Of course, some of these characters popping up aren't the only times when niche characters appear in the game.

6 Stormtrooper Downtime

There are several gags involving Stormtroopers on the Death Star. From opening doors and finding several of them in a hot tub or showering to the Zumba class, there are a lot of Stormtrooper gags throughout the game.

It is a long-running joke in the history of the franchise that Stormtroopers aren’t particularly well-trained, particularly in the art of shooting. In fact, Stormtroopers missing their shots in the films comes up more often than any of the iconic reused lines in the franchise. But this insight into what they do all day was a great series of easter eggs in the game.

5 Musical Droids

Qui-Gon And A Band Of Droids In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

While there are a lot of famous pieces to the Star Wars soundtrack the most intense is the dramatic music that plays during lightsaber battles. There are a number of moments throughout the game, most notably during the three-way battle at the conclusion of The Phantom Menace, where players can run into a band playing the music in the background.

In The Phantom Menace case, this happens with a band of droids and if fans get rid of them, the music in the background actually stops! The game can introduce anything it wants, but very few things will beat out destroyable music. Maybe a jetpack mod is better?

4 Not So Forceful Lightning

Mace Windu And Emperor Palpatine In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Another memorable moment from the franchise is the death of Mace Windu when Anakin betrays the Jedi in favor of Palpatine and the newly crowned Emperor destroys Mace with his force lightning. Before he manages to do this in the game though, he inexplicably pulls out fake lightning bolts and pretends to shock Windu with them.

It may not make quite so much sense, but it again is a way of breaking the tension in a dark moment with some gentle comedy, and it worked incredibly well. The element of surprise can be a powerful thing. Like the success the game has seen already, this gag came out of nowhere.

3 Anakin Hates Sand

Obi-Wan In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

One of the more memorable running gags from the game is the Jedi Council treating Anakin like he was less than the rest. When they tell him that he is not considered a member of the council despite bestowing the rank of Jedi Master upon him, Anakin is seen sitting at a child’s desk with a coloring book.

Later, when Obi-Wan returns to the temple, we see the desk broken and scrawling from Anakin on the walls which reads “Dark Side Rulez” and “Sand is for losers” which checks out with another famous meme from the franchise.

2 Every Disguise

One of the best running jokes throughout all Lego games, and indeed, Lego films, is the ridiculous way the Lego characters hide from danger. In this game, the various ways they manage it include as a cactus, as a droid, and two of the porgs dressing as Luke.

While these moments are frequently thrown into the game and might go unnoticed, it is a running Lego gag that is a big part of the heart behind these games and their gentle comedic style.

1 The High Ground

Obi-Wan On A Ladder In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Finally, and possibly the greatest comedic moment in any Lego game ever is during the climactic battle in the prequel trilogy between Obi-Wan and Anakin. Fans of the franchise remember well Obi-Wan telling his Padawan that he has the high ground.

However, in the game the camera pans out to show that Obi-Wan is standing on a ladder while saying it, just to ensure he really does have the high ground. Fans of the game and the franchise can surely see the humor from this particular moment. Of all the questions we still have about Obi-Wan, we'll never worry about his tactical fighting style.
