The LEGO game series has certainly been successful - to say the least. With the likes of Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Batman, and even Rock Band all joining in with their own cubed versions, it can be easy to forget that this video game genre made its start with the well-known Star Wars franchise.
That's why Star Wars fans and LEGO enthusiasts everywhere have been counting down the days until they could get their hands on LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars, but it looks like they may be counting for a little while longer than they planned.
LEGO Star Wars 3's release date has officially been moved from February 15 to March 22, according to Gamers Hell. This is sure to come as a bit of a bummer to fans of the series, and their children who like to enjoy the games along side them.
Those who aren't sure which story arc LEGO Star Wars 3 will follow should know that it is based off of the current animated series and will follow Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. The LEGO characters have also been detailed to look more like the characters whom appear in the show, so there's a little bit of a different style to the game than the previous installments.
TT Games and LucasArts have yet to give a reason for the delay, which certainly comes as a bit of a surprise considering that it was delayed less than 20 days before its original release date. Hopefully the delay has been issued in order to iron out some bugs and polish up the gameplay a little bit.
Look forward to piloting ships, de-blockitating enemies, and using the force in LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars on March 22nd. If Star Wars doesn't tickle your fancy then there's always LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean to look forward to later this year.
Are you bummed about the delay? Do you plan on picking the latest LEGO game?
