With Epic Games recently dishing out a free copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Sony giving away the likes of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey, it seems a number of major companies are stepping up to help alleviate the boredom of thousands currently stuck in quarantine. With so little to do, it's undeniably a massive help for those doing their part by staying indoors, giving gamers a brand new set of titles to indulge in while they wait for the world to return to normal.

However, it seems another major publisher is throwing their hat into the ring in terms of free games, with Warner Bros. looking to gift its fans an older title available on numerous platforms. The game in question is The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game, which was originally released back in 2017 alongside the film of the same name.

What's more, the title isn't merely limited to a certain console, with TT Games, the developer of LEGO Ninjagoannouncing via Twitter that players can pick up the game on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will be available download from today until May 21, so those looking to grab themselves a copy of the video game adaptation best do it soon if they want to make sure they don't miss it.

The game managed to secure a mixed reception when it dropped a few years ago, garnering a 63 critic score and a 7.5 audience score on Metacritic. Reviews seemed to claim the game was a good dose of fun that had the signature charm that most LEGO video games often provide, however, it did still suffer from frustrating technical issues alongside being rooted in the incredibly simplistic game design which plagues most of the franchise. Overall, it seems the game is a good bit of lighthearted fun, and while it doesn't stray away from the fairly repetitive staple LEGO gameplay, it will no doubt be a solid distraction while quarantine persists.

It seems players on PC might be in luck when it comes to future free game releases, with a recent leak claiming that the Epic Game Store is looking to unload several free games in the coming months. Allegedly, Civilization 6, Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection, and Ark: Survival Evolved will all be making their way to the game's storefront without a price tag in the coming weeks, meaning players are unlikely to run out of solid gaming content to jump into for the foreseeable future.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is currently available for free on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
