Just a few years after Lego Marvel Avengers, WB and TT Games are ready to return to the Marvel sandbox yet again. The next Lego game is now confirmed for a November release and will be titled Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. The announcement came alongside an awesome teaser trailer that seems to be influenced pretty heavily by the most recent Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

The official press release explains that Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is in development for all the major platforms and will arrive on PC, PS4, and Xbox One November 17. A Nintendo Switch version is also on the way and should arrive sometime between November 17 and Christmas. The original Marvel Super Heroes game released in 2013 and Lego followed it up in 2016 with Marvel Avengers. It is interesting that Lego is shifting back to the more general Super Heroes brand and away from Avengers. It seems likely that this is so the story is free to leave the traditional Avengers setting and characters and explore other corners of the Marvel U like we see in the teaser.

Here's a look at the teaser trailer...

The very short teaser seems to be a nod to the opening sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, only with Groot running in fear instead of obliviously dancing around the bright destructive battle. After the short Groot teaser, Doctor Strange shows up to reveal the title. His appearance also seems to be a hint towards the game being inspired by phase 3 of the MCU. If that ends up being the case, then we would expect to see stories and characters from Captain America: Civil War and Thor: Ragnarok as well when the full trailer arrives on May 23.
