With Dark Souls Remastered's release date having now come and gone, it's safe to say that numerous fans of Bandai Namco Entertainment and From Software's action-RPG title are playing the updated game on its various current-generation platforms right now. While the enhanced version of the game is definitely one folks have been craving for quite a while, one iteration that they didn't even know they wanted is a LEGO-branded edition.

As seen below in the video from the Dark Souls fan and YouTuber known as MythicMarty, From Software's action-RPG property has been completely rebuilt from the ground up in LEGO Worlds, and the results are quite entertaining. Although MythicMarty seems to have only fully recreated Firelink Shrine – that is, the player's first destination in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered – the project displays loads of potential, as the sound effects, music, and gameplay all meld together for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

For those unaware, LEGO Worlds is a building game that offers fans the chance to play with digital versions of little plastic bricks and craft almost anything that they can come up with using their imaginations. Bearing this in mind, MythicMarty's decision to marry Dark Souls with LEGOs to envision the action-RPG as being based in the plastic toy construction product's realm is unconventional, albeit magical.

While MythicMarty's Dark Souls and LEGO Worlds crossover is decidedly wonderful, it's far from the first instance of fans using the brick-based open environment title to recreate another gaming property's assets. As it so happens, one fan decided to use the sandbox game about a year ago to build a set piece for a LEGO version of Hideo Kojima's iconic franchise Metal Gear Solid, with the product involving a LEGO Solid Snake making his way toward the stealth-action title's Shadow Moses compound.

Dark Souls Remastered is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch version slated for late summer 2018.
