After a year or so of rumors, 2K Games and The LEGO Group formally announce their multi-game partnership with the goal of combining 2K's high-quality approach to games with LEGO's cultural impact, with the very first title being LEGO 2K Drive. Perhaps the best part for LEGO fans is the wait is incredibly short; LEGO 2K Drive is set to release on May 19 for PC, PlayStation consoles, the Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles.

Developed by Visual Concepts, LEGO 2K Drive is described as a driving adventure game, as while racing is an important factor in the new game, it's not the only one. Ultimately, the primary goal in LEGO 2K Drive is to defeat the rivals scattered across the biomes and win the coveted Sky Trophy, but along the way, players will be able to complete quests for the various Brick denizens of Bricklandia, compete in multiplayer party games like a LEGO-equivalent of Simon Says, complete on-the-go events, and much, much more.

Furthermore, it wouldn't be a complete LEGO game with diverse and heavy customization. Not only are there reportedly over 1000 LEGO pieces available in the game, in addition to various color designs, stickers, flairs, and more, but the LEGO 2K Drive garage allows players to create whatever they can imagine. As creative director Brian Silva told Game Rant, "You can do water, street, or off-road. You could build a car, you could build a shoe, or you could build a fruit basket. It doesn't matter, you can really build anything you want to build."

LEGO is also a family-friendly endeavor, with this carrying over into LEGO 2K Drive's co-op and competitive gameplay options. Players are able to enjoy co-op and competitive multiplayer with family and friends via local, 2-person split-screen or online with up to six players. Everything revealed so far regarding LEGO 2K Drive certainly seems promising.

Of course, as with all games these days, LEGO 2K Drive comes with a few available SKUs. For those curious, here's what to know about each:
