In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players have a vast world to explore, consisting of the familiar but changed vistas of Hyrule alongside new sky islands and deep chasms. As such, it will be important for players to fill out their map, so they can properly navigate the world.
In order to reveal The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's map, players will need to track down a number of towers scattered across the world, similar at first glance to the towers found in Breath of the Wild. Unlike those towers, however, players will not be forced to traverse the tower and interact with a terminal at the top in order to update their map. These Towers are far simpler to activate, though arguably just as thrilling.

Activating the Skyview Towers
In order to activate one of the Skyview Towers found throughout Hyrule, players will first need to interact with the terminal inside them, activating the fast travel point. This will be helpful should players need to access the tower again later.
Next, players will want to stand on the platform in the tower's center and push the A button to activate it, hurling Link into the sky to scan the environment and update the map. Players might want to find a campfire and change the time of day first for better visibility, though this won't influence the map itself.
This puts Link high up in the air, diving towards the ground, and so players can make use of this lofty viewpoint to glide rapidly towards a point of interest. Indeed, even after the player has used the Tower to update their map, players will want to make use of the Tower to throw Link into the air whenever they are in need of a vantage point to deploy the paraglider. Taking a look at an area from above can also help players to identify points of interest they might have missed on an initial pass through an area.
There is one of these towers to be found in each section of the land map, and while there are none to be found in the sky regions, activating the corresponding tower on the ground will also reveal the sky map of that region. This means that players will be able to update their map of the skies over Hyrule while they map out the land, and it can be very helpful when seeking out more Sky Islands to explore and investigate.
