The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is officially out, allowing fans to experience the original incarnation of the Hero of Time's remastered story. One of the game's significant components is Treasure, which is utilized to upgrade various weaponry and other items. One of these Treasures are Bird Feathers, although the method to attaining them differs from the others.

Nintendo's highly anticipated HD remaster of 2011's The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword releases as part of the iconic franchise's 35th anniversary. Skyward Sword HD notably brings several quality of life improvements to the game, including the ability to skip the tutorials, especially considering the game now offers a full non-motion control scheme. Fans will also be pleased to know Skyward Sword HD has an autosave feature, rather than saving being reliant on Bird Statues.

How to Get Bird Feathers in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Bird Feathers are one of the least dangerous Treasures to get in the game, but only if players know exactly what to do. To begin with, players will want to be sure they've purchased the Bug Net from Beedle's Shop, as the item is required for collecting the feathers. Once the Bug Net is acquired, Link will need to head to Faron Woods, the first location visited on the surface. Rather than defeating the birds to get their Treasure, as is the case with most other items in the category, players will need to sneak up on the songbirds, slowly approaching then capturing them with the Bug Net.

Birds of a Different Feather

In addition to regular Bird Feathers, Skyward Sword HD also has Blue Bird Feathers. Considerably rarer than their standard counterparts, Blue Bird Feathers are extremely hard to come by, but also a necessary material to craft some of the best equipment in the game. The scarce plumage can also be sourced at Faron Woods, although there isn't a definitive spawn point for blue birds, meaning players may have to scour the region a few times before one shows up, although they can farm Monster Claws in the area while they're at it.

However, there are a couple of alternatives to getting The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD's Blue Bird Feathers, though they're arduous as well. Blue Bird Feathers are a potential reward for at least 28 cuts in Bamboo Island's mini-game, Clean Cut Challenge, and can also be purchased from the Moonlight Merchant for 200 Rupees.

Both kinds of feathers are necessary crafting materials to upgrade Link's shield. Bird Feathers are required to craft the Divine Shield, and both types of feathers are necessary to create the Goddess Shield, the strongest shield in the game next to the iconic Hylian Shield. Blue Bird Feathers are also required for other item upgrades, like the Medium Bomb Bag, Tough Beetle, and Large Seed Satchel. With a little patience and timing, players will have upgraded gear in no time.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is available now on Wii and Nintendo Switch.
