The Zelda series feels like it's been around since the beginning of time, holding a special place in the hearts of everyone who has been following the series. One of the best, and a standout fan favorite, is A Link to the Past, the SNES title that made Zelda the powerhouse franchise it is today.

Despite having been released nearly 30 years ago, finding every Heart Piece to ensure Link survives his battle with Ganon is a daunting task, especially if you have somehow never played this SNES classic. Here is the location of every Heart Piece in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

24 Heart Piece 1 (Bombs Required)

Once you are able to freely explore, head to the top left corner of Kakariko Village, drop down the well and grab the Bombs from the chest. Place a bomb left of the chests on the north wall of the cave, just behind the rock formation, and a secret entrance should appear with another chest inside containing the first Heart Piece.

23 Heart Piece 2

The next Heart Piece is located in the Lost Woods. Head north of the first log door and you'll find a patch of 3x3 bushes, with the middle bush hiding a hole. Drop down into the hole and a Heart Piece will be waiting for you in a cave.

22 Heart Piece 3 (Bombs Required)

Go into the green house in Kakariko Village, head to the back of the room and down the stairs. There are four chests in this room, as well as another hidden room behind a bombable wall. A few steps to the right of the stairway, the wall has a slight crack in it. Leave a bomb here and a hole will appear in the wall, holding a Heart Piece in a chest within.

21 Heart Piece 4 (Bombs Required)

On the south end of Kakariko, there is a long house that leads off-screen to the west. Head inside and bomb the west wall to move through it to the other side of the house. Exit south and talk to the lady outside, who will give you something special if you complete her course within 15 seconds. The quickest route is to head straight through the five grass patches north, left through three more patches, and left again to the sign. You can jump over the wall south of this sign as a shortcut to the end.

20 Heart Piece 5

Head south of Link's house into the swamp area and make your way to the stone building. Inside is a chest and movable blocks, which you can shift to get into the back room. Go inside and pull the right lever to lower the water outside. Go back outside and a Heart Piece will be sitting to the left where the water used to be.

19 Heart Piece 6 (Bombs Required)

Go to the desert area in the southwest and head to the northeast wall where there's a cave entrance with a skeleton next to it. Make your way to the second room where the old man is and bomb the south wall between the two lanterns to find a hidden room with a chest containing a Heart Piece.

18 Heart Piece 7 (Pegasus Boots Required)

Head south from the Sanctuary, one frame to the left, then up onto the ridge beside the graveyard where there is a large tree and five rocks clumped together.

Charge into the rocks using the Pegasus Boots to reveal a hidden stairway, and inside is a chest with a Heart Piece.

17 Heart Piece 8 (Book of Mudora Required)

Once inside the Palace, go as far left as you can through the dungeon until you exit through the door that leads to the ridge on the left-hand side. Head south from there to the vulture, where the Heart Piece is sitting on the floor.

16 Heart Piece 9 (Flippers Required)

After getting the flippers from King Zora, head down the waterfall from the top righthand corner of the map, then instead of heading down again, go left into a grassy area where a Heart Piece is sitting caged in by a fence.

15 Heart Piece 10 (Access to Death Mountain Required)

While climbing Death Mountain, you'll come across a cave entrance above you in the middle of the wall with no way to get directly to it. Continue up the mountain until you are at Spectacle Rock and drop off the edge, where you should land on the ridge and be able to make your way inside. The Heart Piece is at the end of the cave.

14 Heart Piece 11 (Magic Mirror Required)

After getting the Magic Mirror from the Lost Old Man in Death Mountain, head to the warp tile surrounded by six rocks to be transported into the Dark World, just to the right of where the Heart Piece is sitting out of reach. While in the Dark World, go left to the discolored tile near two enemies and use the mirror to be transported back to the Light World, and you should be standing on top of the Heart Piece.

13 Heart Piece 12 (Access to Pyramid of Power Required)

From the peak of the Pyramid of Power, head down the stairs and drop straight off of the ledge ahead, then go right to a narrower ledge and drop next to the statue. From there, follow the ridge around to the Heart Piece.

12 Heart Piece 13 (Must Have Defeated Agahnim In Hyrule Castle)

After Agahnim has been defeated, head to the lumberjack's house in the far north of the map, just next to Death Mountain. One of the trees will be discolored from the others. Charge into it with the Pegasus Boots and it will reveal a Fairy Fountain, which also holds a Heart Piece in the secondary cave area.

11 Heart Piece 14 (Hammer Required)

Head to the right of Link's house in the Dark World, where there are nine purple posts that can be hammered down to let you through to another area.

Head south and drop into the water, then swim to the island surrounded by small rocks and use the Magic Mirror while on the island. You'll be transported to a raised island with a Heart Piece and a Buzz Blob.

10 Heart Piece 15 (Magic Mirror Required)

In the Dark World, head south of the Haunted Grove to a circle of shrubs and use the Magic Mirror. Head inside the cave entrance to the top left to find the Heart Piece.

9 Heart Piece 16

In the Village of Outcasts, there is a building containing the Game of Chance where you can pay 30 rupees to open two random chests. The Heart Piece is inside one of these chests and can be quite costly if you don't guess correctly with the first few picks.

8 Heart Piece 17

In the same place where the 15-second game is in the Light World, there's Treasure Field in the Dark World. You can pay 80 rupees to dig as many holes as you can in 30 seconds, and a Heart Piece will be inside one of the holes you dig. Like the previous Heart Piece, this can be costly if you don't get it early and may take a few tries to find it.

7 Heart Piece 18 (Titan's Mitt, Hookshot and Magic Cape Required)

In the Dark World, head just south of the lumberjack's house to find a cave entrance blocked by a large rock, which can only be moved once you have the Titan's Mitt from the Thieves Town. Head through the cave, using the Hookshot from the Swamp Palace to bridge the gap on the second level and the Magic Cape from the graveyard to walk through the bumper.

6 Heart Piece 19 (Titan's Mitt and Hammer Required)

From the Village of Outcasts, head right into the field pull of purple posts and hammer them all down to reveal a secret stairway to the south. Head inside and a Heart Piece will be behind some skulls.

5 Heart Piece 20

In the Swamp of Evil, there is a building that looks like a monster's head to the left of the temple. Head inside to the back of the room to find two chests, containing rupees and a Heart Piece.
