Ever since its release, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild modders have been adding a bevy of useful, wonderful, and of course, strange content into the open world action-adventure epic, with one of the more recent creations being the incorporation of "Sanic" the Hedgehog. Now, it looks as if the one fan of Nintendo's long-running property has decided to trade in Link as the protagonist for the main character of Final Fantasy 7 by making a mod that adds Cloud into the game.

As seen in the video below from the modder and YouTuber known as YamGaming, the aforementioned The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild mod hosts Cloud as the playable character, with the Final Fantasy 7 lead taking part in a variety of different activities within the Switch and Wii U title. For instance, he explores the open world, does battle with several Bokoblins, and even rides his own variant of the Master Cycle Zero.

While Link is definitely the choice representative of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cloud actually appears as a great stand-in for the iconic Nintendo character, particularly due to the fact that the Final Fantasy 7 lead's Buster Sword acts as a solid addition to the game's combat. If anything, Cloud is a much more fitting protagonist than the bizarre Grand Theft Auto CJ mod that brought the San Andreas protagonist into the title.

For those unaware, this isn't the first instance of Cloud making a crossover appearance in a Nintendo title, as the Final Fantasy 7 figure was officially added to the roster of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS several years ago. So, bearing all of this in mind, it's obvious that the FF7 protagonist can easily hold his own on a variety of the Big N's platforms. Perhaps, then, we could see Square Enix actually creating a Switch port of its Final Fantasy 7 remake at some point in the future after it's finally released. After all, stranger things have happened.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
