Although very little has been revealed for the new Legend of Zelda for Wii, some new information has come to light. Mr. Shigeru "Shiggy" Miyamoto recently stated in a recent Q&A in Tokyo (reported by GameLife|Wired) that the next installment in the popular Zelda series will indeed support the latest Wii Remote add-on, the Wii MotionPlus.

"In this [installment of the series], we're using MotionPlus to make you feel much more like you're actually fighting while holding a sword in your hand"

The ability to actually feel like your wielding Link's Master Sword sounds cool, but the Wii MotionPlus has potential to drastically alter the Zelda franchise. However, Nintendo isn't stupid, I'm confident the changes they make will help deepen the gameplay, not only for sword play but for the bow and arrow as well. The aiming could be totally awesome with the Wii MotionPlus, a refined and fine tuned aiming system is rarely a bad thing.

"In the previous game, you aimed at things by pointing at the screen, but this time we'll use MotionPlus to create a much more convenient targeting system and a more pleasurable playing experience."

It's still unclear if you have to have Wii MotionPlus to play or if it's just a feature. Our guess, yes you will probably need the MotionPlus, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just an option.

What do you think of the next installment of the Zelda series using the Wii MotionPlus? Is it for better or for worse?
