The Nintendo 3DS is an incredibly unique and promising system, but the launch lineup for the new handheld has been regarded by many in the industry as less than stellar. People may not have bought the 3DS for the titles currently on the market, although Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is an awesome game, but maybe they simply purchased it in preparation for a game of epic proportions. I'm referring of course to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which sadly didn't make it in time for the launch of the Nintendo 3DS.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is easily one of, and likely the, most anticipated title for the Nintendo 3DS system. The only problem with the Ocarina of Time 3D is that nobody knew when the game was going to finally release, but since you read the title of this article then you've hopefully pieced together that this is no longer the case. In a recent press release from Nintendo (that detailed their Spring lineup for Wii, DS, and 3DS) Ocarina of Time 3D was featured prominently as one of the main -- actually, only -- 1st party games that 3DS owners have to look forward to.

Here is the official box art for Ocarina of Time 3D. Give it a click for a better look.

It's time for gamers to head to the June section of their respective calendar and highlight June 19th, because that is when The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will officially become available to the masses in North America. This won't be just a straight port of the game that gamers everywhere fell in love with on the Nintendo 64 however, as there are quite a few new things that appear in Hyrule this time around. The enhanced graphics and 3D are obvious, yet much appreciated, upgrades in Ocarina 3D, but it's the inclusion of the Master Quest that should really have fans excited.

The Master Quest edition of Ocarina of Time was originally part of a bonus for those who took the liberty of pre-ordering Wind Waker way back in 2003. This addition essentially adds "revamped puzzles and redesigned dungeons" to the game that offer more of a challenge for those who complete Ocarina of Time 3D's main story.

Are you content with the game's official release date? Will you be purchasing the Ocarina of Time 3D for your Nintendo 3DS?

Look forward to revisiting the land of Hyrule in glorious 3D with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D this June 19th in North America and June 17th in the UK, available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS.
