Exclusive New 3DS Features The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask 3D

After an ample amount of fan demand, the house of Mario finally announced that a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask would be receiving a remake. Scheduled to arrive on the 3DS portable at some point in 2015, the remake is being built utilizing the same engine as the Ocarina of Time 3D, but there have been some modifications to the original game to make it more accessible to players.

While it's easy to become excited for the impending return of a beloved game, it shouldn't be forgotten that Nintendo has plans to launch the New 3DS next year as well. More than just a simple aesthetic change, the updated portable touts enhanced CPU. This addition has already ensured that the port of Xenoblade Chronicles will remain a New 3DS exclusive, and apparently it'll bring with it a few new features to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D.

During an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the producer of The Legend of Zelda franchise, Eiji Aonuma, teased fans that there will be something for owners of the updated 3DS to look forward to in the game. All that the famed game developer would say is that for fans to “please wait for the opportunity to discuss how playing on the New 3DS differs at a later date.”

Not one to let speculation run too rampant, Aonuma confirmed that New 3DS owners won't be treated to enhanced visuals – ensuring the same graphical fidelity regardless of which version of the platform gamers own. It's good that the Big N has opted to keep the game looking equally as sharp across all 3DS hardware, but fans will have to wait and see what exclusive features are being made available on the revamped handheld.

It's impossible to say what additional features or modes Nintendo and Aonuma have planned for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, but details should be arriving in the coming months. With that in mind, stay tuned to Game Rant for updates on the remake as soon as they arrive.
