The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has always been a fan favorite because the game stands out. It is one of the few games in the series that does not take place in the kingdom of Hyrule. It also stands out due to the fact that other than one quick mention of the name, Zelda appears nowhere in the game.

However, what does appear in Link's Awakening are plenty of interesting characters, a fantastic line-up of bosses, and tons of interesting optional content. One of the major entries in the optional content is the collection of the Chamber Stones. There are 14 Chamber Stones to be found in Link's Awakening. These can be given to Dampe, who will use them to create new chambers and effect panels in the Chamber Dungeon, giving the player even more exciting areas to explore. Here we will review where to find the chamber stones and the requirements to obtain them.

5 Trendy Game

Once Link has completed the Catfish's Maw and makes his way to Mabe Village, he can get started on the collection. 2 Chamber Stones can be won at the Trendy Game. This is a game where the player manipulates a claw to grab different items off of a moving platform. The game's location is in the bottom right corner of Mabe Village.

The first of these Chamber Stones appears within the game only after unlocking and beating the fifth dungeon, Catfish's Maw. The second appears when once the player has collected all 10 Figures. A new Figure gets added to the Trendy Game after every dungeon and beating the final boss.

4 Fishing Pond

Link's Awakening

Now it's time for Link to put his fishing skills to the test. The next 2 Chamber Stones can be found at the Fishing Pond in the northernmost part of Mabe Village. In order to collect these 2 stones, Link must not only play the fishing game but also catch 2 big cyan-colored fish called "Ol' Baron." Since it takes some skill to land the bigger fish in this minigame, it is recommended that the player drops by the Fishing Pond from time to time early in the game to hone their skill.

The Ol' Barons only appear in the Fishing Pond after beating the sixth dungeon, Face Shrine. Link can get the first Chamber Stone by catching an Ol' Baron. Then he can get the second one by catching a much larger Ol' Baron. This second fish is enormous. So, be prepared for a fight.

3 Seashell Mansion

The Seashell Mansion is located in Ukuku Prairie. It is easy to spot because it looks like a giant seashell. Link can get 2 Chamber Stones in the mansion as rewards for finding and turning in the seashells. These take quite a bit of time to acquire due to the number of shells required. However, they are certainly not the most tedious collectible in the Zelda series.

He will get the first one once he turns in 30 of the Secret Seashells. However, Link will not receive the second Chamber Stone until he turns in all 50 of the Secret Seashells, the maximum number found in the game.

2 Raft Shop

Link's Awakening Raft Shop

The player will be able to find the Raft Shop just to the east of Angler's Tunnel. Once there, a single Chamber Stone is Link's reward for completing the "Rapids Race" minigame. However, it's not enough just to finish the race. To earn the stone, Link has to complete the minigame in 30 seconds or less.

It is not possible to get through the course that fast just by riding the currents. This requires extremely liberal and skillful uses of the Hookshot to pull off. Using the Hookshot, the player can move Link and his raft along at a much faster pace and make normally slow turns much quicker. This dramatically reduces the time it takes to finish this minigame and allows the Chamber Stone to be won.

1 Town Tool Shop

Here is where the largest gains can be made. A total of 7 Chamber Stones can be either bought or stolen from the Town Tool Shop located east of the weathervane in Mabe Village. The Stones can be purchased here for 1,280 Rupees each.

If the player wants to purchase all of these, the two best ways of making Rupees are building Chamber Dungeons specifically designed to give many Rupees or by going through the "Rapid Raid" minigame. This version of the minigame costs 100 Rupees per run, but Link will easily profit off of each of these runs, as it has a ton of Red Rupees spread throughout it.

Link can also obtain the 7 Chamber Stones by stealing them from the shop. While the developers made stealing the stones a lot more difficult to do in the newer version of the game than the original, it is not impossible. However, should the player decide to steal them, be warned. If Link succeeds in stealing anything from the shop, all of the characters will refer to him as "THIEF!" for the rest of the game. (The player's file name will not change.) Also, if Link enters the shop again, the cashier kills him, making it impossible to receive the ending bonus after watching the credits.
