Few franchises can claim to have maintained their popularity for as long as The Legend of Zelda has. Since the early days of the Nintendo Entertainment System, The Legend of Zelda has been one of Nintendo's most beloved series, beating out some stiff competition. With a franchise as popular and widespread as this one, there are many fans who've created interesting tributes to the series.

Numerous unique, fan-made Zelda-themed creations have surfaced online, featuring a variety of different form factors. For example, one fan created a Zelda-themed aquarium featuring the Moon from Majora's Mask. However, one recent Zelda tribute is much more ambitious in terms of scale.

A Reddit user by the name of lopsidedfloor encountered a giant statue of Link that someone else made entirely out of sand, apparently randomly constructed on a beach. While the statue is definitely impressive in scale, it's difficult to tell which version of Link the statue is trying to depict. On the one hand, it looks fairly similar to Toon Link, who's made appearances in games like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. But it could also be from other games in the series.

Given the revitalized popularity The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has received, thanks to the remake on Nintendo Switch, it could be a depiction of that version of Link, given how tiny his stature is compared to Toon Link. Either way, it still is a breathtaking work of art and is an amazing accomplishment that would leave any Zelda fan blown away.

It truly is amazing to see just how much of an impact The Legend of Zelda has had on the gaming community as a franchise. For the last couple of years, anytime there has been a Nintendo Direct, fans of the series have been clambering to hear further news on Breath of the Wild 2's development, with the game being radio silent for a while. However, it's possible that news regarding Zelda might be coming rather soon.

With E3 2021 rapidly approaching, there's a fairly good chance that Nintendo will reveal some kind of news regarding The Legend of Zelda. Whether that's Breath of the Wild 2 or potentially another older Zelda title re-releasing on Nintendo Switch, such as the case with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. In any case, it will be interesting to see what comes of The Legend of Zelda going forward.
