Following Nintendo of America's recent reveal of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's rune abilities in a gameplay video that was tweeted out by the Big N, the company has decided to eke out even more information about its forthcoming action-adventure title for the Wii U and NX. Developers have now turned their attention toward Link's archery abilities by releasing a short video on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account to show off the different types of arrows The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild protagonist will be using in the game.

As seen in the official tweet below, Link will be able to switch on the fly between four different types of arrows, with each of them displaying their own properties for offense in combat. Players will be able to choose between a simple arrow for attack, a fire arrow to set enemies ablaze, an ice arrow to freeze the baddies, and a bomb arrow to, of course, blow them to smithereens.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this reveal for Link's arrows in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the fact that fans will be able to chain them in unique ways, or save them for occasional problem-solving. For instance, upon freezing enemies with an ice arrow Link will then be able to make them ostensibly evaporate completely after shooting them with a fire-tipped arrow. Furthermore, as seen in the video above, players can use plain arrows from a safe distance to snap ropes that hold up various apparatuses.

Although this is just a small snippet of gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it's fantastic that the title's developers are taking into account the ability to link the physics of the world together in a meaningful and realistic way. Of course, the same type of interconnected action has been shown off before, with initial gameplay footage from E3 2016 detailing how Link will utilize and react to the natural elements and pastoral environments found within Breath of the Wild.

Bearing all of this in mind, it's safe to say that fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating Nintendo's release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. After all, not only did it generate the biggest buzz at this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo by causing the longest lines to play its demo, but also it's already won numerous awards, including being crowned the Best Game of gamescom 2016.

Unfortunately, though, there's still a ways to go before Breath of the Wild launches. As a matter of fact, Nintendo has yet to even project an exact release date beyond its nebulous launch window of being available sometime in 2017. So, while we all wait patiently, fans craving an even more complete idea of what the title will offer would do well to check out our hands-on time with the demo and preview at E3 2016.
