Nintendo's Facebook page uploads a small amount of footage from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild featuring the iconic Temple of Time.
While the Pokemon series has been the bigger Nintendo franchise in terms of recent press, it was only a few months ago that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild debuted at E3 2016 and wowed audiences across the globe with its open-world gameplay. The Game Critic award winner for E3 2016 Best Action/Adventure Game has been slowly creeping to the forefront of gaming discussion again now that Pokemon GO has begun to cool off slightly, and fans of Link and Princess Zelda are eager to get more details on their newest adventure.
Today, Nintendo decided to oblige those fans, taking to its Facebook page to upload new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gameplay footage. The video is only half a minute long, and no actual action or gameplay is shown, but it's nevertheless one of the most important looks yet at the newest game - Breath of the Wild will feature the Temple of Time, and like much of the rest of the footage shown so far, the iconic Hyrulian landmark looks positively gorgeous in its latest overhaul.

Unfortunately for players familiar with the Temple of Time from its appearance in other Legend of Zelda games like Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, the once majestic structure has fallen into disrepair in Breath of the Wild. The Temple of Time is now located near the Great Plateau and the Shrine of Resurrection, the latter of which is where Hyrule is said to have been born - another possible reference to a potential Legend of Zelda series reboot being on the table for the newest game.
The latest footage of Breath of the Wild also demonstrates how it isn't just the overall landscape of the game's world that feels larger. The Temple of Time feels bigger and more vast than it ever has in previous iterations, a suitable aesthetic given Nintendo's decision to use Xenoblade: Chronicles devs for Breath of the Wild to make the open-world something truly special. Even in a video as brief as the one uploaded today, the Temple of Time and the world it is located in feels much grander in scale than they have in any other Legend of Zelda title.
That's a good thing, too, because The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will need to surpass 2 million units sold in order to be successful, and bringing fresh innovations to the series is a smart bet to reinvigorate sales as well. While that number of units may not seem especially high for a game in a series like Legend of Zelda, the Wii U's struggling sales and Nintendo's overall weak representation in the console market might make that number harder to hit than it should be.
