In addition to the release date, Nintendo announces that a limited edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - dubbed the 'Master Edition' - will also be released.

After nearly six years, many delays, and several teases, Nintendo has finally announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be launching on March 3 alongside the Big N's new Switch console's launch. However, that was not all the Zelda news that Nintendo had up its sleeve as the company subsequently revealed that fans will have the choice of buying either the standard edition or two different limited editions of the game.

The first Breath of the Wild limited edition bundle is called the Master Edition and will include the game itself, a Master Sword statue, a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Sheikah Slate Carrying Case, a Sheikah Eye Collectible Coin, a Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Canon Tapestry and weather-worn map, and a 24-song soundtrack CD. While there is certainly a lot of loot in this Master Edition package, it won't come too cheap as it will set gamers back $129.99.

For those fans who can't quite afford a Breath of the Wild Master Edition bundle, there's a slightly less expensive version called the Special Edition. Available at a bargain price of $99.99, the Special Edition features everything in the Master Edition except for the Master Sword statue. As far as special edition bundles go, the Breath of the Wild Special and Master Editions are quite reasonably priced, especially given how expensive some video game special releases can be.

While there may be a lot of interesting loot in both the Special and Master Editions of Breath of the Wild, it is the actual game itself that fans are most interested in. With an enormous open-world filled with a variety of different environments, players certainly won't be short on things to do, whether it is hunting down Ganon in order to save Hyrule, fighting off hordes of enemies with the game's new Rune Ability mechanic, or even just a spot of cooking.

Regardless of which version fans end up getting, there's little doubt that gamers everywhere have labeled Breath of the Wild as one of 2017's most anticipated games. With less than two months left to go before its release, there should be enough time for fans to save up enough for both the game and a Nintendo Switch when both are finally released.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is scheduled for launch on March 3, alongside the Nintendo Switch.
