8 Lady Delilah Briarwood

legend of vox machina

Lady Briarwood served as the big bad evil guy in the first season of Legend of Vox Machina. At the same time, villains often feel very stale or lacking in motivation; this was nowhere near the case for the necromantic Delilah Briarwood. What made Lady Briarwood such a breath of fresh air was how much depth her character possessed. Instead of a typical villainous agenda, wanting to do bad things simply because they are bad, Lady Briarwoods horrendous actions were fueled by a desperate need to hold on to the man she loved.

As a result, lady Briarwood walked down a dark path and became enveloped by darkness to fight against nature and bring her husband back to life. The backstory, ambition, and the brilliant animators paired with the voice of Grey Griffin, widely known for her role as Azula in The Last Air bender series, made Lady Briarwood an incredibly well-put-together villain.

7 Percy

Percival De Rolo served as a strongly motivated character filled with anger and a thirst for revenge after losing his home and family to the Briarwoods. After endless torture, Percy escaped at the cost of the only family he had left, which led him to make very drastic decisions.

The decisions would manifest in a number of ways in the series, which would sometimes be to the detriment of his friends. However, following the winding story of Percy’s life and being present as revelations were made and secrets came to light made Percy one of the most compelling characters in the series.

6 Vax'Ildan

legend of vox machina

Serving as the well-versed rogue of the party was Vax’Ildan, often shortened to Vax; contrary to the typical personality aspects of rogues, Vax was a very honest and sincere member of Vox Machina.

More times than not, Vax would put his life on the line for his friends while preaching that he would do the opposite. With every opportunity to be a bad friend, Vax chose the honorable path; against dragons, vampires, and even undead hordes, Vax never faltered for one second. His strong dedication to his sister versus his friends was a well-received conflict in the show, and because of the honorable core of his character, Vax produced a large amount of popularity.

5 Vex'ahlia

legend of vox machina

Vex’ahlia, also known as Vex, is the resident Archer and tactician of Vox Machina; Vex is a cool-headed opportunist with loose moral standings. While she would never betray her friends, her only true alliance is with her brother, and when the chips are down, she will weigh her options for the best outcome.

However, Vax's sometimes cold and pragmatic nature is a shell protecting her from things she can not control; this is put to the test in the first season of Legend of Vox Machina, which places her and her brother at odds temporarily. Vex’s ability to dance around the battlefield and a conversation make her such an excellent character whom fans can't wait to see more of in the upcoming second season.

4 Scanlan Shorthalt

The charisma and the daring ballads of Scanlan, the bard, stood tall and loud among the rest of the characters of Vox Machina. The dulcet tones of Scanlan were as smooth as his fingers as they glide across his lute; perhaps the only other thing Scanlan’s mouth is good for is landing him into trouble.

Time after time, Scanlan finds himself knee-deep in some of the most dangerous situations, which his friends then have to pull him out of. However, Scanlan’s quick thinking and elegant conversation skills pay his weight in gold and help Vox Machina out of their fair share of mischief.

3 Grog Strongjaw

Grog is a mountain of brilliant rage trapped inside the body of a dragon-sized snow-bunny. While barbarians are often mindless brutes that strike faster than they think, Grog tears down these misconceptions with his kind-hearted disposition and thoughtful nature.

Grog is predominately easygoing, keeping a watchful eye over his friends. He thinks of himself as the brains of the party, and no doubt, his friends would be truly lost without him. Grog is a treasure both on and off the battlefield, able to bring his friends back down to earth when needed and raise them up when their backs are against the wall in a fight.

2 Keyleth

legend of vox machina

Pure of heart and soulfully attuned to the fury of nature, Keyleth embodies the soul of Vox Machina as its loyal druid. While most of the members of Vox Machina have a blurred sense of justice, Keyleth has a strong sense of who she is, even if she doesn't always exude the most confidence.

Keyleth's inability to understand people's motivations is made up by her ability to understand their feelings; she is often the voice of reason in the party, which rubs some the wrong way. But no challenge is too harsh or climb too steep to shake Keyleth’s optimism, as she is always confident that she can accomplish anything with her friends.

1 Pike Trickfoot

legend of vox machina

Pike is the shining star of Vox Machina; as such, she brings the best out of those that have the pleasure of making her acquaintance. While Pike can be a bit pragmatic for a cleric, she is very dedicated to her faith without forcing her burden on those around her. Pike portrays a stout amount of confidence even though she has her fair share of emotional struggles, especially regarding what she brings to the table as a member of Vox Machina.

In the series, Pike battles with the loss of her powers and fights diligently to regain them and help her friends. This introduces an internal struggle where Pike must fight on the battlefield of doubt before she is allowed to fight alongside her friends again.
