There have been quite a few movie delays this month, and this year in general, for obvious reasons. Among those pushed back was Marvel's Eternals, one of the Marvel cinematic universe's bolder projects, with a lot of mystery about what it will be about and what it means for the future of Marvel films. One thing that is more difficult to push back, however, is the creation of merchandise, and a recent toy leak has revealed some more information about a character who is likely the main villain of the film.

The box describes a figure named 'Kro,' referred to as "a powerful Deviant unlike any other the Eternals have faced." So it would seem that Kro is either a figurehead, leader, or representative of the "Deviants," who will likely be the main opponents of the Eternals. It's possible that Kro is the main villain of the piece, or that he will be one of the main servants of a larger foe. The box also refers to Kro as "the harbinger for a global threat." While that's not a lot to go on, it does seems like there's something bigger at play than simply Kro himself.

It can seem a bit strange to receive official leaked information from a toy, but it's not the first time something like this has happened. Marvel has had quite a few toy leaks in the past, including revealing things such as the time suits in Avengers: Endgame or the appearances of particular characters in any given film. This is partially due to the fact that merchandise is often on a more rigid schedule than the media they tie into, having to be made and shipped on tight deadlines, and cannot be easily pushed back even if the product they're based on has to be put on hold.

They're not always right of course. Famously, a toy for Avengers: Infinity showed the Hulk ripping himself out of the Hulkbuster armor, a scene which does not occur in the actual film. That said, it seems unlikely that a character would get an entire toy to themselves and not play a significant role in the story. So for the meantime, fans will just have to wait for official confirmation, or start speculating as wildly as they please.

The Eternals will release November 2021, so long as there are no more delays.
