After many pandemic-related delays, it seems as though the wait is finally over for all League of Legends fans who were patiently waiting for Arcane - the first animated series based on their favorite franchise. Riot Games first announced the video game adaptation back in 2019 and the initial release was scheduled for 2020.

However, when the pandemic hit last year, production on the Arcane series was halted and no update was provided for several months. Now, it looks like Arcane is back in business, and fans of League of Legends couldn't be more excited.

Riot Games has revealed on their official website the details about the upcoming League of Legends event called RiotX Arcane which will be tied with the animated series. The start of the event will be a part of the League of Legends patch 11.22 changes and it is divided into three parts that follow along with the themes of the show:

  • League World Finals and Arcane Premiere Super Weekend (November 6 - November 7)
  • Progress Days (November 7 - November 13)
  • Undercity Nights (November 14 - November 20)

The first act will start with Worlds Finals on November 6 where there will be an Arcade-themed show which will continue into the Global Premier hosted live on Twitch and co-streamed by popular streamers. The second part of the event, also known as the Progress Days, will bring a Piltovan celebration of progress across the entire Riot Games ecosystem. The event finale will dive deeper into the region of Zaun celebrating the Undercity Nights which will end with a bang worthy of this region.

Preseason is usually the time when League of Legends players experience major changes to the game, at least compared to the usual biweekly updates. Last year's Preseason brought the controversial Item Overhaul and it seems as though Riot Games is not finished with its item and rune adjustments.

When it comes to specific League of Legends content, there will be numerous novelties:

  • Preseason 2022 adjustments featuring new items, dragons and runes
  • New visual update for Caitlyn
  • Free Arcade-inspired skins for four champions - Jayce, Vi, Caitlyn and Jinx
  • New Arcane-related adjustments for the Summoner's Rift Map

Caitlyn is one of the most popular League of Legends champions and it does not come as a surprise that Riot decided to give her a fresh look. Besides the free Caitlyn skin, the RiotX Arcane event will bring rewards across multiple games. In order to collect the watch rewards, players will need to link their Riot account to Twitch and watch Acane's premiere on November 6 on the official stream or via their favorite co-streamer. For fans that don't have access to Twitch, they can sign into their Riot account on the official Arcane website and where they can watch the first episode.

League of Legends is available to play for free on PC.
