League of Legends has been going strong for over a decade, after first being released in 2009. Keeping an online game going for that long is not easy, but Riot Games has managed to do so thanks to the core game being so popular and by releasing new content regularly. And now, as a bit of a surprise move, Riot has unveiled a new Champion for League of Legends, Samira.

Samira is available right now inside of the Public Beta Environment of League, a place where the new content can be tested before going completely live. While usually each new Champion receives a build-up before the release, Samira simply appeared inside the Beta Environment, which is certainly exciting and fun.

Samira seems to be a hybrid Champion, with powerful rangeed attacks but rather lethal abilities up close as well. Her Blade Whirl can destroy incoming attacks, as well as deal damage. This means that Samira may end up being a high-skill level character in League, with the ability to block oncoming skill shots.

Samira's Passive (Daredevil Impulse) allows her to build up combos and gain speed. Her Q (Flair) is a standard physical damage attack, but 25% of the time it can do critical damage. The aforementioned Blade Whirl is her W, and her E (Wild Rush) allows her to dash through enemies and cause damage. Inferno Tigger is Samira's R. It can only be done if her style rank is S, and it does wide damage for 2 seconds to enemeis all around her. In general, her kit seems to align with being one of the better Laners in League of Legends moving forward, but play time will help the community determine that.
