Avengers: Endgame is now playing in theaters worldwide, and people from all walks of life have attended a showing of the movie, as evidenced by the $1.2 billion global debut. However, that's not to say everyone has seen the movie yet, and one League of Legends player recently decided to spoil the movie for others while playing online. Don't worry: this article will not contain any spoilers for the movie.
For spoiling Avengers: Endgame, a Redditor known as Laptop-Guy received punishment in the form of a 3-day ban in League of Legends. There seems to be some discontent concerning the severity of this decision, as some think the player should have just been muted and others think that a perma-ban is more fitting. It isn't currently known how much of the movie the player spoiled, and this may play a role in this decision-making. But, whether it is a small spoiler or the whole movie, several fans of the MCU are invested in seeing the outcome of Infinity War, so spoiling it isn't cool.
It seems that League of Legends developer Riot Games concurs, as this player went on to reveal his short e-mail chain where Riot Games Player Support used the same rationale for justifying the 3-day ban. After Laptop-Guy posted his story, it appears a few others stepped forward, stating that they received bans for spoiling Avengers: Endgame, despite this technically not being the traditional policy for such an occurrence.
Lap-top Guy ended his story by stating: "Kinda mad... but I completely deserve this." It seems that at least one person who then received a 3-day ban learned the folly of his ways, and hopefully, this helps prevent more major movie spoilers in the future of League of Legends.
While many are excited to talk about the movie, there are some games outside League of Legends where the movie is being celebrated. In fact, the Fortnite x Avengers Endgame crossover is currently underway for those who are wanting to celebrate this culmination of the MCU.
