In League of Legends, the player controls one of 140 champions. While the game initially only had 40 different characters to choose from, that number grows more and more as the years ago by. One of the options is Samira, the Desert Rose.

She is not afraid of death, boasting confidence and seeking thrills anywhere and everywhere she goes. Samira built quite the reputation in Noxus, where she traveled to after her home in Shumira was ravaged. Samira is stylish and a bit of a daredevil, wielding black-powder pistols and a custom-engineered blade. She thrives in life-or-death situations, slaughtering people who stand in her way and looking fantastic doing it.

8 Samira's Teacher Indari

League Of Legends LeBlanc

Captain Indari, who once served under the Trifarian Legion, is Samira's handler as well as her teacher.

Secretly, though, Indari is working for LeBlanc, who has the title of "Deceiver." She, a member of the Black Rose, manipulates people and plots endlessly...one of her interests is Samira. In fact, LeBlanc convinced Samira to track down Rell, the Iron Maiden. She was experimented on by the Black Rose, weaponized to destroy Noxus. Rell is considered a criminal by many and that is fair because she is violent and deadly, especially to her former overseers.

7 Samira Fought Darius

League Of Legends Darius

Although not necessarily enemies, Samira once fought Darius because he was under the control of Viego via the Ruination.

Darius is the infamous commander of Noxus, and quite literally the "Hand of Noxus." It is no surprise that he cuts anyone down who opposes the Trifarian Legion, even if they are Noxian. Viego is the Ruined King because he is the reason the Ruination happened in the first place. The Black Mist within him seeps out, taking over even those with the strongest of wills.

6 Samira's Enemy Xerath

League Of Legends Xerath

Samira and Xerath are not friends, and that rests solely on the fact that he (well, his followers) destroyed her home back in the day.

Xerath, the Magus Ascendant, hails from ancient Shurima. He is pure arcane energy, once burned deep under the sands of the desert. Xerath is seriously hungry for power and wants to legitimately rule the entire world according to what he believes is right.

5 Some Quotes

League Of Legends Samira Stare

The quotes Samira says in the game reference a bunch of different movies, video games, and songs.

"Oh! Did I step on your moment?" is a reference to a line by Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. "You're dead weight" is a reference to a line by Nero in Devil May Cry 5 and "Jackpot!" comes from various protagonists' lines in the game series. "Showtime!" specifically is a reference to the Stylish Rank in the games. Besides that quote, "I am the beauty and the beast" of course relates to Beauty and the Beast. And finally, "I never go out of style" is a play on lyrics from Taylor Swift's song "Style."

4 Some Lore

League Of Legends Samira Shoot

Currently, Samira is 32 years old. Several years ago, during the uprising in the Rokrund Plains (seen in The Black Powder Plot), she lost her eye. Hence, the eye patch.

Aside from that, Samira is actually the protege of a former actual Legion Saboteur from the Trifarian Legion. It is Captain Indari, of course. Also, her favorite fruit is a pomegranate!

3 From Bayonetta To Avatar: The Last Airbender

League Of Legends Samira Game

The development team over at Riot that worked on designing Samira (and her playstyle) drew influences from various video games, television series, and films.

These inspirations include Devil May Cry, Vanquish, Bayonetta, Viewtiful Joe, BlazBlue, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, Fast & Furious, Game of Thrones, Tomb Raider, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

2 Between Luigi And Dante

League Of Legends Samira Standing

Samira has a taunt that deals damage, and it was actually inspired by Luigi in the Super Smash Bros. series of video games. In the games, Luigi's taunt deals damage too. (Normally, taunts do not deal damage!)

Additionally, her combo system (Daredevil Impulse) is a lot like the Stylish Ranks in Devil May Cry. On top of that, Samira's guns (Blaze and Thorn) are like Dante's Ebony and Ivory (from Devil May Cry) and her ultimate (Inferno Trigger) sounds like Devil Trigger (also from the franchise). There's more, Samira's blade (Vanquish) closely resembles Nero's Red Queen!

1 Emily O'Brien

League Of Legends Samira Coin

Samira is voiced by Emily O'Brien. She also voices Camille! Aside from being famous for roles in television and movies, such as Jana Hawkes Fisher on The Young and the Restless and Gwendolyn Rizczech in Days of Our Lives, O'Brien is the voice actor for numerous characters in video games.

She voiced Y'shtola in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Eryn in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Faris Scherwiz in World of Final Fantasy, Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Khamira in The Elder Scrolls Online, Gamora in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Mary in Indivisible, Amelie in Death Stranding, and Mary-Ann Ronan in Tell Me Why.
